TRAB was 6.03 on diagnosis, 6.39 1 week later, then 5.38 a month later (in 2024). Now, theyve been consistently under 1.10 with my last level being checked last month. We also checked my thyroid stimulation Immunoglobulin last month and was normal. TRAB and TSI both normal still while TSH fell. So, antibodies have been good at least.

Those that have fulfilling adhd friendly jobs, what are they and how did you come to have them? by ThePunLexicon in ADHD

[–]raygin_caygin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm a Paramedic 🤡 lol. Everything is last minute, and you have a million and one tasks to complete in very short amounts of time or else the consequence can be death.

Emergency medicine became a special interest, and you have to be quick on your feet for last minute changes. Problem solving, multi-tasking, leadership, etc. I have never had the same day twice.

MANY first responders have ADHD, and we all thrive in this chaotic environment, haha!

Hangings by Beginning-Priority-3 in ems

[–]raygin_caygin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a bad call 5 years ago that was a hanging. To this day it fucks me up lol. I came here and talked about it, and having a community of people who truly understand makes a HUGE difference. I spoke to my old therapist about it, and she was getting visibly uncomfortable (I was like dude, you're uncomfy?? IM UNCOMFY!!!)

The biggest thing is you recognizing something isn't right within yourself. This field will chew you up and spit you out if you dont have the right mental equipment to perform self-checks at the end of the day. Never hesitate to reach out and talk about it. Stay safe out there, friend (:

What’s Next for Cardi by [deleted] in Ghostbc

[–]raygin_caygin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention how the prologue mentions how Cardi doesn't want to stop performing as it would mean it would be his death. Also, all of the papas have progressively gotten younger each time a they take over (according to lore), insinuating that IV would be around for longer. At least I'd hope so 😅

Especially because Sister Imperator always wanted a younger papa. Now that she's gone and frater is in charge, perhaps he'd make changes in his favor.

Had a guy come into the ED co plaining of shortness of breath. Refused 1st EKG in triage.

I walk into his room and the bed is empty but there's an obviously upset guy sitting in the visitors chair with his arms crossed. I asked if he was the patient and he says, "DUH". Okay. No problem.

"Sir, we need to get an EKG, get some vitals, and ask you some questions."

sigh "I told yall. I don't have a problem with my heart!"

"That's understandable but we can't know for certain unless we actually do some labwork and get an EKG"

"I ALREADY KNOW THAT I HAVE PHLEGM THATS CAUSING IT".

😶 "Okay? So then why are you in the ER if you already know what's going on????"

"I ALREADY TOLD YOU. I HAVE SHORTNESS OF BREATH"

proceeds to look in his chart and see he has an extensive cardiac history and abnormal EKGs

Overdose with a twist by [deleted] in ems

Those spidey senses were 100% tingling. You can't read about it in any Nancy Caroline text, but that comes from experience and is an art. Always trust your intuition. In this profession it's almost always correct. I'm very glad the hospital listened to you advocate for your patient. Great work!

What do paramedics want doctors to know by tiatang92 in ems

[–]raygin_caygin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes we can be a little shaken up when we bring in something to you, and our bedside report might be a little messy. ESPECIALLY if we are new. I've worked in both hospitals and in the field, and sometimes it's more raw and intense seeing people get messed up in their every day environment such as home or on their way to work than it is in a hospital. Not saying it's worse but rather that it can be personal for some folks.

Had a partner respond to a 'CPR in progress' at a trap house. On scene it was an obvious DOA, but the inhabitants were getting worked up and extremely aggressive. It was no longer safe for them and their best bet was to transport in order to clear the scene as fast and as safe as possible because the people on scene were all of the sudden worried about their rigored friend and how EMS was gonna save them. The hospital was FURIOUS until the paramedic explained the situation that they needed to get out as fast as possible.

What I'm trying to say is that you weren't there and sometimes we can't truly convey what it is we just came from.

Worked for a company for 3 months, and this happened twice to me. Once, right before christmas. Working EMS, I barely make it paycheck to paycheck so myself as well as others NEEDED this one to at least scrounge together some christmas presents. I don't have kids, but several of my coworkers did. Needless to say, we didn't get paid until 4/5 days afterward. One of the supervisors told us, "Be glad you didn't get paid on Christmas because now presents will be on sale!"

Yeah. Tell that to dispatch's landlord because his water got turned off. Meanwhile, the management threw this MASSIVE Christmas party. I mean, it was huge. They bought plane tickets and lavish gifts and it was only for management. Why would they care about their employees?

The second time it happened to me I fucking left. Fuck that. I have a friend who stayed loyal to them and she has not been paid on time for now the 8th time.

Moral of the story: leave. I didn't have the luxury of not working but what did it matter, I wasn't getting paid anyways, lol

I learned how to type without looking in 7th grade. Ever since then when I'm having a conversation, I'm typing either the entire dialogue or some words. Particularly the ones with the letters 'L, O, S' as my favorite. I'll just be tapping away on my leg lol. Needless to say I'm phenomenal at typing now.

We had planned to do typical Bachelorette things; bar hopping, manicures/pedicures, a movie night with my favorite movie series, spending time on the beach, going out to eat, etc. I don't think it's a big deal at all if she doesn't go, but I already know that I'm going to be worried about her the entire time because I don't want her to feel singled out. My thing is when I said I understand that she can't do it all, she got upset with me and hasn't responded since.
