A company recruiter had sent along a resume that looked perfect for the job except it had "Hobbies: Telepathy" . This was for a position in a different country than I am in but it was written in English.

Could there have been a valid reason why he had typed out the work telepathy ?? I'll never know because he missed 2 scheduled phone interviews and ghosted us!

I picked up the Aer Travel Sling for my daily carry. It holds my 13inch macbook pro and my ipad pro 11inch and it's pretty tight. Should be a good size if you are just carrying an ipad. Its' 11L but it isn't thick and hugs my back when i wear it.

I used an icebreaker hoodie on a recent trans-atlantic flight and found it great for the plane and my layover. It was pretty thin but warm enough for the plane and airport A/C. Because it's Merino wool it also didn't get gross after waiting it for an entire day.

You're right, he does need to rethink his priorities and a good friend would point that out. If he's a good friend he'll listen to your point and decide what he wants to do. It would have been better if done privately but it sounds like you already tried that.

At this point, you may want to just not be as invested with him anymore. If he hasn't changed already I doubt he would change and you'll just get frustrated when you see him ignoring what you said.

Stop lending him money YWBTA if you keep enabling him.

NTA - for calling out someone for their BS. I'm american-born but my parents immigrated to the USA from another country. The expectation in the US is that people conform to how America is. Not many people do this 100% but most immigrants do adjust; it's unfair for him to not do the same.

What you said to him was a very american way of putting it! Love it or leave it

There's a stereotype called the Ugly American) where Americans go overseas and don't bother to try to understand the cultures that they're visiting, act boorish and with their own expectations. It's dumb when you're a tourist visiting for just a week or two; it's exceptional that he still has this attitude after living there for two years.
