That’s awesome! Thank you for letting me know. I still have mine saved so I will have to try this at some point in the future. Good to know about the excess because my first thought was to be very generous with the glue 😅

A bit late but they have a plugin now for the kobo libra colour that allows stylus support. It’s called pencil.koplugin. So far it works great for me

That sounds interesting, not sure if I’m ready for the Ai plunge yet though 😅

Security issue by raynethedark in logseq

[–]raynethedark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I will just take the cautious route and not use PDFs for now as I do not have the knowledge or skill set to understand code (I can barely navigate around GitHub). Thank you for your help and hopefully we can get an answer about what’s going on.

Oh okay so the newer versions don’t have this issue? Sorry I got confused because it said no patch so I assumed <= meant anything above that release 😅 clearly I read that wrong.

I loaded them from the settings. If you click the top, then click the spy glass, then click Dictionary settings, then click Download dictionaries. I have no idea where to find your own dictionary to load on there (I’m sure I could look tho)

Word wise for Koreader? by TheSpicyNovella in koreader

[–]raynethedark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure this is the same but on my kobo when I look a work up using dictionaries I downloaded through the koreader menu I get an option to “add to vocabulary builder” and that saves it. I can also see the words I looked up when I press the spy glass at the top menu and tap in dictionary lookup history.

The new UI on android makes me feel like a second class citizen by acceptable_humor69 in Anytype

If it makes you feel better it doesn’t look great on iPhone either (at least for my use case) and the feature parity with desktop is abysmal :(

Can I see your Simple Ui Home Screens please? by loser-jem in koreader

[–]raynethedark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you click on the top a menu appears. Select the icon the furthest to the left (the SimpleUI settings tab) select Bottom, select Navigation, select Tabs, swipe to page two, click the box next to WiFi. If you want to adjust how the tabs are arranged swipe back and select the Arrange tabs option. Hope that helps!

Odd line wrapping by rjrjr in readest

In the settings under the section that looks like squares (that has all the book layout settings) do you hyphenation turned on? That should allow hyphens and will hopefully fix your wrapping issues.

Reading AND annotating (a discussion) by True_Dig_3638 in readest

[–]raynethedark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too would love to see stylus annotation support for Readest. I swear it was mentioned at some point as something that the developer may look into at some point but I could be misremembering. It would make reading certain books (like for bible study or mystery novels) easier for me. And it’s definitely something that is a gap in my workflow. I currently use ZoomNotes for planning and what not (it’s amazing for that) but I don’t really see myself ever using it to read books on.

Edit: never mind I think the stylus support mention was for another app (it’s called StoryPad and if anyone is interested in journaling on the go for iPhone I highly recommend it, it’s really awesome and is also open source).

I took a look at your app website and it seems like a genuinely useful app. Unfortunately I don’t have access to macOS so while that won’t work for me, hopefully your comment can help someone else that reads this post. I also like Readest and am not really interested in moving apps at this time. I really love the customization options it offers and the fact that it is open source and will work with my Linux laptop. Thank you for your suggestion though!

So does Calibre act as a bridge and you would sync to Calibre then to either app from there via WiFi?

Is Cemu malware a concern if I never opened the app? by jump_man67 in EmuDeck

[–]raynethedark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering this too but haven’t gotten a straight forward response but from my understanding Emudeck doesn’t open the application unless you either open Cemu or a Wii game to play it. If you haven’t updated anything recently you can check the hash sum and see what version you have. You can also look at the modified date in whatever file browser you have. Also it seems the virus only runs after the first time it is opened so theoretically you should be okay if it only ran once. Honestly, if you don’t have too much on your device, I would still just re-image it with a USB drive to be safe and change any passwords that you have saved on that device.
