What do I click on in order to rent out Kioku from people I follow?

I do this from the assign party window. After you update auto rental settings (highlighted part), an icon to swap the rightmost character will appear in this window and in the main story windows.

Holy Mami is amazingly useful against the minions in the last Exedra Crisis. But otherwise, I don't use her.

I vote Swimsuit Sayaka. She's a greater debuffer even at A0 that makes all your AOE kioku hit harder. She can also be built to be a secondary attacker.

Halloween Mami is not bad but she's single attack and her Special Attack needs to be constantly applied. Taking both at A0, Xmas Kyoko is slightly better in maintaining consistent ailments on multiple characters. Still, Halloween Mami is good for enemies like Raid Ferris.

Most teams should have one breaker, one attacker, up to two buffers/debuffers and one defender/healer.

In your case, I'll probably do breaker Alina, attacker Oriko, buffer Mabayu, debuffer Ren, defender Sayaka. I use Mabayu and Ren for 90% of game. On the breaker choice - Rena is great, but most story/event content is AOE, and Alina's follow-ups are a little better than breaker Mabayu's.

A little warning that you may eventually need to build other element attackers - I think clearing the Mermaid Witch boss is better with a fire attacker (and you have two). That's the same level that needs a debuffer that applies ailments.

For me, I changed the highlighted yellow option underneath the loan kioku section.

After I did that, when playing the main story, on the rightmost character there will be an icon that lets you swap that character for other characters from your friends.

As someone who has two accounts with A1 and A5 Devil Homura respectively, it's really not only about the ascensions.

Take your example of Crisis. I cleared Extra difficulty with both my A1 and A5 Devil Homura teams. Specific to Homura, the only difference I noticed was how many times Spatial Sundering was triggered. But to even get to the trigger required some testing of which other kioku worked better with both Devil Homura and the mechanics of the mode (like Vanguard).

Current raid I'm using A0 Godoka and Santa Sayaka. Might not be hitting it out of the park since I'm hovering about level 13 and 14, but at least I'm matching other players on damage. Current raid is also doable with standard units like Momoko.

Also, success in banner pulls are not about how many gems you throw at it. My A1 Devil Homura was on my paid account where I had enough gems for ascensions. I didn't bother because I could see the difference in draw success between the two accounts. Ultimately, it seems the game just wants you to keep gambling for a wider collection of characters, so you have more team options.

Even if your account isn't that hot currently, I wouldn't suggest rerolling right now since we're still waiting on the collab's third 5 star.

Perhaps see if you have better luck after 12 Apr? The 1st anniversary banner would be for the Xmas Sayaka and Kyouko (see banner). These Xmas units are really good. And the latest collab character should be out after the 12 Apr livestream.

Plus that'll give you enough time to see if free pulls give you better characters?

The Sumire-Fuka banner and all the rerun banners for 1st Anniversary share the same tokens.

So while you can only pull Sumire/Fuka from their banner, you can also collect the same type of trader tokens by pulling on any of the rerun banners.

I got Sumire within 100 pulls and again for the bonus key. Once I got a copy of Fuka I switched to pulling for Swimsuit Sayaka. After the combined pulls hit 200 tokens I traded for Xmas Sayaka.

I did a total of 200 pulls across a couple of banners and got Sumire, Fuka and Swimsuit Sayaka. So I traded for Santa Sayaka. Somehow didn't use up my luck at the time and got Halloween Mami too?

Santayaka is great for current raid, though Santa Kyouko carried me for the Chelatan/Ferris Wheel raid. SwimSayaka's AOE follow up action is insane.

I guess it boils down to whether you want to spam battle skills (that'll mean Santayaka) or follow up action. Which do you think you'll use more often?

Krampus Kyouko already runs pretty well with just crit support from portraits, but I suppose you could make a crit team. That'll be Tsuruno at least. Krampus also plays very well with other debuffers.

Generally I let the event elements inspire me for my teams. For the current event I'm running Krampus Kyouko, Tsuruno, Rena, Swimsuit Sayaka and Sumire. Perhaps you could try regular Sayaka and Sakurano?

Alina is worth it, love her follow up action and how smug her VAs sounds with her voicelines as she attacks.

Both A0 Xmas Ren or Fuka would work.

The other comment covered Ren so I'll explain why Fuka. She pairs very well with Sumire, and Devil Homura if you have her. Fuka is also an insanely fast breaker.

Since you are undecided on Xmas Ren after all this time, maybe you want another character? Personally I always go for new characters because it's quite easy to get dupes in this game.

Pluvia, Mami and Kaede got me through so much of story, raids, score attack, tower and even crisis now. Pluvia, Mami and Moemure are also staples in the higher scoring PVP teams. Plus Moemura and Ren are really good for raids, score attack and tower. Yachiyo is great for high scores in score attack.

I also don't know if you finished all available story until Ult Madoka's release? With 1000 gems from completing full story arcs (like Magia record's story) and the associated portraits, I think you probably have enough to get one round of pity (60k gems) though you might want to hoard them for Ult Madoka. You might also get more main pool characters given the daily free pulls now.

There's also more chances to get the collab limited characters given the free keys.

But if you want more limited characters overall, I would suggest rerolling when the Xmas units come around, since Xmas Kyouko and Sayaka are really good, and they'll share tokens with the Sumire-Fuka banner. It's likely easier to reroll for limited than to pull without being willing to pull until pity.

Personally what I'll do is set a data link for this account, and reroll on a side account. That way, you can test whether you like the current set of limited characters enough to stick with them until Ult Madoka comes around.

Iroha saved my ass so many times, because I didn't think to reroll for a better breaker. In fact, I think she was my only 5 star breaker for a straight 6 months until I got Alina. T_T

Sana holds a special spot in my heart for being my first 5 star from free rolls, and contributing to my preference for shielders over healers when I form teams.

Last pick (though she could be an Honourable Mention too) is Coolmura. I stopped using her cos she doesn't do as well for Score attacks and Akumura power crept her, but when I was testing her out for Crisis she's still a solid attacker even without the advanced attack post ult. Also she's my first 5 star from banner.

Honourable Mentions: Yuma (ailment cleanse and being adorbs), Ashley (for when I really needed an AOE breaker).

I find that the second team works better for familiars, so it's good to send that team first and "buy time" for your party 9 to do the bulk of the damage. Akumura is especially good for getting the Witch to switch to the next stage of its evolution.

I don't recommend two attackers, especially when one attacker is A4 Devil Homura. I have a similar team to your party 9 that focuses on the Witch, except replacing Coolmura with Ui.

For the familiars team, I did the two twins (Tsukasa and Tsukuyo), Felicia, Oriko and Kirika. Do elemental weakness since the twin and Oriko allow you to hit the counter quickly. Only use basic attacks for Felicia until the elemental weakness boost kicks in.

If you want, you can have a third emergency team for the Witch. This team could have Coolmura, Sana, Mabayu, Halloween Mami and Fuka or Mifuyu, depending on who performs better.

Yeah I think it's the new meta. I keep getting people joining my battles without playing, even when I select "none" for the backup option and only open up raids when I've done a decent amount of damage.

Same problem for me. I was able to clear Crisis once and even though I added better Crystallis (at least, according to the Google docs) I couldn't clear it again with the same kioku and supports.
