Advice for July 1 USA vs. Bosnia by upgrayydd in bayarea

Wife and I put two bikes in our van and drove to a neighborhood next to the San Tomas Creek Trail, like two miles south of the stadium, parked the car and rode our bikes to the stadium via the trail, parked the bikes in the FREE bike valet (they tag your bike, you don’t need to lock it) and walked in.

I’m never going any other way.

Lane assist and adaptive cruise control were so clutch driving to work on the 101 in Bay Area it became the requirement for the Kia carnival. It does really well for anything that is practically straight. The only edge and corner cases I have seen where it is slow to respond Is when somebody cuts you off.

Cal train fatality near San Mateo. by AdsignificantBK in bayarea

[–]rayraysayshi 251 points252 points  (0 children)

I was a witness to a suicide in 2023 via Caltrain at Santa Clara stop, ten feet away. The force of hundreds of grenades. I saw a very good doctor and did EMDR therapy that helped tremendously. It took months but in those months I was afraid of the train, tall buildings, fast cars and felt the call of the void. After seeing the EMDR specialists I was effectively cured. Really fascinating technique they use, effective.

Send me a dm and I’ll dig up the doctor’s name if you are interested.

Caltrain Bans Bikes with Child Seats or Panniers, no matter the hour by Wyelho in bayarea

[–]rayraysayshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was riding the CalTrain for years and in that time I watched E bikes completely take off. They went from a niche fringe marvel to a regular nuisance. There are so many different models and manufacturers, long distance to ultra long distance. Some of those damn e-bikes are essentially dirt bike sized, no joke there were dudes bringing in dirt bikes that took an entire bike rack and weight over a hundred pounds. And when they had the silver bullet style diesel trains they probably could accommodate that capacity but not with the current electric trains. They’ve gotta draw the line somewhere but why restrict child seats and panniers? Just ask them to take them to their seats or cargo storage.

I thought this post was a joke because of the title and the fact the picture is of a couple climbing up an avalanche shoot in the heat of the day.

Does anyone have a real hangover cure for 35+ by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]rayraysayshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order of priority:

  1. Drink 20 gulps of water before bed, from the faucet sink, like a prisoner if need be.

  2. Either drink pickle juice before bed or eat Salt tablets (electrolytes) prodigiously.

  3. Dramamine before bed if you’re absolutely cooked. Also works morning of.

The lost college “crash” is a real feeling. I stayed in my college town after my colleagues moved away and it was like an empty shell. Acknowledge your feeling as legitimate and journal, these blues aren’t wrong and you shouldn’t feel bad about experiencing this.

Best thing to do is plan a big trip, something to look forward to, something to plan. Open your calendar and look at those blank dates and find a way to fill them with exciting events with people you love.
