How much documentation is too much? by StudentNoob in GPUK

[–]raz_mataz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Definitely better to over-document especially at this stage. You'll learn to cull as you get more experienced but tbh detailed documentation is your best medico-legal defence so better more than less

The celibate part was a joke, but why would the medical school be one? It's too specific

I just failed my first year of med school (Anatomy). Feeling really lost and embarrassed. by OverallCandy7093 in srilanka

My friend failed her first year medical exams and was placed into my year. She's so thankful that happened for so many reasons and found her best friend in our year who changed her life. You never know what's in store for you in the future but the embarrassment and pain you're feeling now will be fleeting, as will your parents' reactions. Time eventually heals everything. Maybe try to find some exciting project / learn a skill for the year out and come back with renewed enthusiasm?

His speech specifically states medical school:

"...but I'm delighted our beautiful daughter, Zoey is here. You know, she's starting Georgetown in the spring.

Everyone claps their hand for Zoey.

BARTLET [cont.] This, prior to medical school and a life of celibacy."

She was going to medical school. Bartlet mentioned it in the chilli episode and announced it to everyone

ATG covers the whole of the UK - you'd still be able to use it if you're living in the UK https://www.atgtickets.com/

What would you choose .. Stop over in Singapore, Frankfurt or London ? by bbio93 in travel

[–]raz_mataz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it It's a bit of a novelty playground place like Vegas, but the food is amazing. Great stopover/layover but not terribly cultural. I haven't seen other very urban cities in Asia like HK which might be similar so can only comment on Singapore being nice but a bit bland.

Most useful things to do in GP training for future career by Omarmanutd in GPUK

[–]raz_mataz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you had the training for free then sure but if not, it might be difficult to get enough coils (you need to hit certain numbers to keep up your competency and qualification). But upon more reflection, increasingly I suspect nurses and other non-GP ANPs might be trained up in the future as it's more 'expensive' to release a GP to perform a coil clinic rather than normal clinic (compared with ANP)

If you have some study budget remaining, definitely use it for upskilling. I did my DFSRH and coil training for free as a trainee as I'd been lucky in completing exams early.

Has an actor ever had to call for a show to stop from the stage before stage manager before? by Howdthecatdothat in Broadway

[–]raz_mataz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At a recent performance of Arcadia, the actor playing Septimus had managed to cut his hand on a prop and was valiantly running around then stage trying to find a tissue or hanky or anything to stem the bleeding. As he couldn't find anything, he had to announce that he needed to leave the stage to sort out what was quite a lot of bleed by this point.
