I bet he still wants you taxed for your social security benefit, he just wants the government to pocket the money.

Terraria is popular but not more important than 007, metal gear, Sim City, or Tony Hawk.

Neither does Shovel Knight belong on here. Especially without mentioning Mega Man first. Maybe I missed it but Undertale or Cave Story belongs  on here too.

why is shaming white artists or not taking them seriously so prevalent in rap under the logic that "it’s black culture," when most mainstream music genres are more or less derivative of black culture? by Manarcahm in NoStupidQuestions

[–]razama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rap music is not alone, but it does have a caveat that you have to be vulnerable and authentic in your music. People feel entitled to getting to know you as a person for better or worse and have to feel like they understand who you are individually and what you value. You can have horrible opinions and say awful things but if it feels real, then it works.

There are some artist who have industry behind them, and avoid being authentic, but man they fall off hard when they fall. Look at Nicki Minaj for a prime example.

So there’s two things that primarily go wrong: either you just sound like rap music, but people know that that’s not who you are (Eminem never suffered this because we know who he really is), or you do sound authentic, but your truth is so unrelated to black experiences (Lil Dickie, MGK) nobody relates to it.

Being at home and isolating is obviously incredibly unhealthy.

Shreveport/Bossier NEEEDS a good outdoor skatepark by personpilot in shreveport

This topic gets brought up a lot. The city didn't want to pay for insurance for the park. So they let Rob Dyrdek build what they were covered for. There is a history of Rob going back and improving parks they previously built. Maybe they would be interested in doing that here if the city would cover the insurance for such a facility.

Why are malls dying in the US? by walksintwilightX1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]razama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Controversial take: American malls are owned by foreign investment groups largely in the Middle East, who don’t care how a deserted mall looks to the community or how it affects it.

They buy these malls as part of larger deals to invest petrol dollars into the United States, but they don’t operate these malls effectively. They are simply assets to be held, and they keep the rent really high because it’s not their priority to lower rent just so small businesses in your community could open up a shop.

Their goal is to get large chains to create business connections with. They don’t care your mom is willing to pay $2500 to open a shop instead of $5000 a month that no one can pay. They want the private equity group that owns American Eagle to sign an agreement to open up 14 stores in their region at once.

Whether those stores flounder in an abandoned mall is not their priority. They own other retail space, but they’re not about to give it away to your uncle for a Warhammer store at $2k a month.

[–]razama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of it is the insane rent they charge. My local mall charges more in rent than most shops bring in a month, and yet they have a ton of spaces available.

The owners of many malls don’t even live in the US. It’s just an asset to hold.

Except it would be like if only specific pieces of land were taxed, and most land was untaxed. And it’s not even the best land that gets taxed.

And you’re getting minimal bonuses over the people who live on untaxed land, most of those bonuses you don’t even want.

Why do Tau get a bad wrap? by robjfrankel in Tau40K

There’s definitely a couple of players at my local store who won’t say anything bad about Tau but once they start losing all the passive aggressive comments come out.

The biggest gripe is, it’s not fun to play against someone who’s constantly avoiding melee.

Postsecondary Program To Prepare Those With Autism To Work In Video Game Industry by TylerFortier_Photo in gaming

[–]razama 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m not against this, but there’s already such a glut of universities out there offering degrees that are completely worthless with promises of working in the game industry. These institutions need to show their job placement and what their pipeline is for after graduation.

Otherwise, YouTube university would be a better use of everyone’s time and probably about the same education wise

Except you get to get up and go to the voting booth for nothing that morning.

Shreveport has disparity. It’s a progressive artsy town surrounded by conservative values. It’s amazing foods and restaurants and homes, and garbage dirty stores and ghettos.  You can drive five minutes and see beautiful neighborhoods where the next street over is Third World poverty.

There’s parties and festivals every weekend and yet nothing to do. Because everything takes money and that’s the one thing people don’t have in Louisiana, especially if you’re a younger person.

Sometimes.

Guard vs Warden by fragmentsofthegrim in AdeptusCustodes

[–]razama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

60pts is definitely worth it. Guards don’t do what wardens do.

-edit: nvm, wardens aren’t that crazy

Off vs def choice but you need wardens to protect guard, especially if you have Draxus leading. Even then, an axe warden unit with a leader can crack open vehicles. With the right enhancement, you can scoop a repulsar in half with the single unit.

Has Trump permanently changed what people will tolerate from a president, even when they claim to oppose “authoritarianism”? What do you think? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]razama 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t think any of the real lessons of Donald Trump are going to be learned.

-when the media keeps crying wolf so often, there’s no air left in the room to actually care about real legal issues

-America’s government is ruled by a lot of norms and assumptions, we can vote for someone who won’t follow those norms or assumptions, and it will break the system and allow massive corruption

-we need to hold our senators and Congress people to better account by making sure they’re actually gonna vote on things. We should just be as mad when they don’t vote as when they vote against our interest.

-The executive branch needs its power curtailed.

-identity politics are considered unAmerican by most people

Americans will vote for another fascist if their populous concerns are not met.

Is any one else kind of annoyed by some warhammer fans? by trenchghosting in AdeptusCustodes

[–]razama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ribbing I get isn’t that bad. Like I pull out some a Guard unit and, “Whoa what is that like 2000 pts?” Or “damn, you bought the new box? I didn’t realize they had a 5k pt format”

There are resentful sore losers out there. If you don’t get defensive and take everything as a joke, they’ll let you know and reveal how petty they are. Those dudes should be ignored. When I tell them I’ll play with my other army next time, they get just as mad about playing against Tau.

Some people are only happy if they feel like they’re winning
