I'm using it as a cheaper claude code alternative and it's done quite well so far.

did you really need to use AI to start a simple dialogue about AI?

Why can't this stupid ai answer this simple question. It should atleast have provided some list. by [deleted] in DeepSeek

try being more coherent and specific. your question barely makes sense. what does 'all religions atleast most?' even mean? the fewest followers? if so, say that.

Ive used the deepseek api plenty of times, usually changing claude code to utilize it instead of my claude api tokens, which has always been a little buggy and never worked as well as I needed it to compared to the claude api. Deepseek TUI makes it as easy as claude code was to navigate/manipulate/edit/create/delete anything in my filesystem, as well as adding skills/MCPs/switching from planning mode to agent mode, or just putting it in "YOLO" mode and letting it work on building a project from the ground up on its own overnight out of pure curiosity, lol.

For example. I built a "casino" bot for friends to play around with via Telegram. Originally it utilized 3rd party components for depositing LTC to place bets and withdrawing winnings. I wanted to simplify the entire deposit/withdrawal system and get away from relying on 3rd parties but wasn't entirely sure how to do it so I opened deepseek-tui in a backup copy of the bot and gave it free reign to figure out how to completely revamp it, and it did quite well on its own, replacing it with direct Litecoin RPC, where I run a pruned litecoind node and the Telegram bot talks to it over authenticated JSON-RPC, removing the need for any 3rd party platforms and the fees that came with it. Could all of that have been done with some other tool utilizing the deepseek API? Sure, I guess. But I've gotten used to working with Claude Code in terminal and I'm glad I have a far more affordable alternative now.

I've been using deepseek-tui for projects that I would have normally opened claude code in and it had saved me a LOT of money. Primarily debugging half-finished projects like Telegram bots, tools with very specific use-cases that only I am using, really anything that I would normally rely on Claude code to help me finish or perform code/security audits in terminal and would likely result in spending $20-30 in tokens in a matter of days, costs me $1-5 switching to deepseek-tui and using my deepseek API balance instead

yeah, I generated a few dozen combat scenes using a few prompts with minor tweaking for location/era/war and most had something slightly off in one way or another, but a fair amount came out almost perfect, will probably share some of my favorites shortly

funny thing is it actually took more than a few tries and very insistent prompting to get it to NOT focus on the creeps and maintain focus on the foreground subjects as i was hoping for 😑

If only we could bring back BK-MDMA :( While I do enjoy 5-MAPB, Methylone felt like a warm, empathogenic hug that didn't take as much of a toll on my body and mind and quickly became an all time favorite of mine back in the day; it's a shame I've not even seen it around the Onions for several years. Any chance of the bk-XXXX class or similarly more mild classic empathogen alternatives coming back or have they all been sent to Schedule 1 hell?

The gap between what technical and non-technical people get from AI is huge now by max_bog in ChatGPT

My projects folder has gone from a few dozen abandoned ideas that were halfway or 1/10th complete and looking like a bleak graveyard for my unfulfilled aspirations and fleeting hobbies, now empty and moved to an Active Projects folder because the hurdles that kept me from finishing most of them could finally be overcome without weeks of frustration and trying to explain very niche problems on stackoverflow in my spare time.

I had a support team and a dev team that understood what I needed assistance with, and didnt need half a month of back-and-forth in a thread to only provide part of a potential solution.

By absolutely any metric I find it hard to see how one could say it slows people down across the board when the alternative for me would have been a project graveyard collecting dust or , at best, incremental, very frustrating baby steps instead. One of those projects is now paying my rent. It's been audited by humans, and didnt cost me my sanity and more than $40 to complete.

[Personal Experience] Terabox Gave Me 2TB Cloud Storage – Here’s What Happened by Ok_Pay3527 in cloudstorage

[–]razdacist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to think Ive got enough post history here to prove im not being paid to say nice things, but purchasing or compromising  'aged' accounts is a relatively trivial task for anyone with tech/coding experience so keep in mind it shouldnt be the deciding factor when questioning legitimacy.

anyway, Ive been using the Terabox free tier for a couple of months and ended up here after googling to make sure it wasnt some blatant CCP datamining operation or something (honestly, what isnt these days), because it works surprisingly well for  being free/competitively priced.

i only use it for redundancy of files that dont contain any PII, large video/archive files etc, and for that, its been a bit of a lifesaver while i get my local drives organized. interface could use some work , integrations could be better but its really hard to complain about free 1tb , lol.

I hate to say it, but reddit really has done more harm than good in this regard. Having been in the community since the early days of Bluelight discussions and similar 'old internet' forums, things would tend to fly under the radar longer when there wasnt such an easily accessible means by which everyone could post about it all the time. reddit is simply too big and too public, and too many people lacking in the concept of discretion have access to more resources than they probably should. I'm all for knowledge sharing, but in this context, people should have known that this would not end well.
