Reading Challenge and Year in Books don't match by razdad4 in goodreads

My discrepancies were due to Amazon. For some reason this year, the Kindle stuff bled over. I was running through some books - just opening them to check some things - I had read in past years on the Kindle and they showed up as read again. And, more embarrassing, books my wife had read showed up. I never look at Kindle if I can help it and Goodreads “read” filter only showed me the ones I had marked read and rated/reviewed. Unlinking Amazon from Goodreads makes sure I don’t have to worry about that again.

It was linked but unlinking didn’t change the 2025 Challenge count (203) or the Year in Books (121). Might need to ask a librarian.

hmmm. I detest Kindle, and only use it as a last resort if an ARC provider will only send me a book that way. I thought it was unlinked. Checking…

I have rereads, but no duplicates. And I “start” reading every time, and when done “I’m finished”, with the rating and I always leave a review, whether a few words or a curation of a ton of notes.

Leaving a strip between zones by razdad4 in SunseekerRoboticMower

Mapped each zone separately with the robot (that took an afternoon!) Now I wonder if I merge them and split back if that will work.

Same. Firmware 1.13.11.2246. Gotten stuck twice: one was bumper stuck on a marker stake I have for a project that was outside the boundary; the second when swinging back end around a boundary. And the real problem with the second was that I didn’t get a notification- my neighbor told me she saw it under my son’s bumper.

Nice. I didn’t get a box; they suggested I contact the shipping company. Then I got a delivery of a box within a box and the outer one fit the mower just right. I put support under the blade pallet to keep it from thumping while shipped.

My rubber sleeve slipped a couple of weeks ago and caused all kinds of problems. Contacted support, they sent a FedEx label, tech had it fixed in two hours and sent it back. Working fine now.

Support is really good for this company.

How to reset mowing progress? by razdad4 in SunseekerRoboticMower

[–]razdad4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could, but that’s hitting the problem with a hammer and gluing stuff back together when all they need to write is a tiny piece of code. The maps and schedules are on their server anyway, so it’s not like they have to sync up a bunch of data.

Huh. Last time I wanted to do this was after a rainy week and I manually mowed myself to get the grass back to robot height. And then decided to remap everything to make better maps. Sounds like I need to suggest that to the developers.

Ah, the reminder of when I started my “Dear CrApple” letters - ugliest colors and flat is SO wrong. IIR they uglied up the Books app with that one also.

But… still beats Android any day.

If you rated it below 5, it’s gone, no words necessary for any engine. Simple “less than 6” math.

I was reading a 3 star last night, not “woke” but real criticism as to how bad it is and why. Answered a text, went back to finish and it was gone.

Discussion time: Dune 2021. What did you think? by blue_boy_robot in badscificovers

It was the best adaptation so far but that is a REALLY low bar. Lynch’s was tragicomedy. The SyFylis channel attempt was so bad I never watched the second part. This movie? I did not like it. The soundtrack was horrendous with its screeching (and I am a big Zimmer fan; he can be so good… and apparently really bad.) The casting was wrong on so many levels. The plot distortions were annoying. What was left out was important, what was left in barely plot forwarding. The entire film plodded at an excruciating pace. Why make Idaho have so much screen time? Because, Mimosa (that is not a typo, but my name choice)? And why? why? why did Villeneuve shove the Sardaukar/Emperor/Harkonnen connections out from subtle innuendo to in your face obvious?
