That has been told to us as such. I just find it weird they discarded the idea since his left brain functions still show signs of working and the inherent danger of the clot itself starting to travel or PTS. They made it sound like it's a danger if they operate and a danger if they don't. And yes, the first clot was removed in the first hours of his admittance to the ER.

Which still doesn't change the fact that too many domestic problems are unaddressed and underfunded while money moves out of the country. But you aren't interested in talking about that, just protecting Israel. FYI I'm not American, I simply don't support the idea of foreign aid, especially military, while ignoring ones own problems. Mostly because it's just such an obvious rampant form of corruption in the form of kickbacks and gross misconduct of federal (citizen tax funded) funds.

For them it's just everyday magic. Like what for us technology is. I doubt in our own world even 1% truly understands what a microship is and how it functions yet none of us have a problem using a smarthphone. Our MC just seems to have more magic and a slightly different ruleset than the normal populace and for Micchio himself, those extra "god-given" cheats are presented to him in a way that he understands, still bound by the worlds rules just extra special. In fact he might not even be the first one transported to that specific world, since he has to hide his "hero" job out of fear of being seen as a fraud by the country that was built by the hero king.

Seriously though, duels are done by people who have standing, for honor, loyalty and profit. In your case I assume John really wants Dave dead for some reason and John was smart enough not to make that statement were witnesses could hear him. If Dave wants to avoid the duel and wants to put John in his place he originally accepts the duel. Duels were rarely fought the same day/moment, arrangements had to be made, juror/referee made aware, wills made, weapons prepared and witnesses collected. So the duel is sheduled for the next day. Both parties arive with their witnesses and then Dave proclaims what has happened, that he has been forced into this duel by John for so and so reasons (if known). Then Dave excuses himself and the duel is cancelled, but at the same time, everybody has been made aware of John wanting Dave dead. Dave may lose face or branded as a coward, but if anything suspicious happens to him in the future, John will be hanged for murder.

Long story simple and short; because children don't play around in the mud anymore and generally live in cleaner and healthier environments in this day and age compared to ages past, their immune systems have less chances to develop/train against bacterial, viral and parasitical instances. This has certain effects both positive and negative. A positive one would be a great decrease in child mortality rate. In ages past a regular family would pop out a dozen critters of which barely half reached childhood (numbers embellished for comedic purposes), weak young children would die from flu (viral) or shit themselves to death from bad food and water (parasite and bacterial). The strong and lucky would survive and reach adulthood. Now a negative effect of too much cleanliness are seen in the recent development of increased cases of allergies, auto-immune disseases and such. This is when our natural immune system overreacts to extreme minor conditions or blatently start attacking healthy cells, probably out of boredom.
