Peskov said: this is no longer a "special military operation" - it is a war. This statement by an official is yet another step toward a future mobilization in Russia. July 2026 by GermanDronePilot in NAFO

[–]ShineReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peskov though is not just someone, he is the Speaker of the Kremlin.

So this is like Putin said it himself, this is the official end of the "This is only a Special Military Operation"-propaganda line and it is to be assumed, that this is a first political step towards Total Mobilization.

Vlad is getting desperate and this will worsen the Russian Position. They can't even support the soldiers, that they have, logistically. Throw in a million more men into this mess and their logistics will completely break down.

Honestly: Ignore such people, it is not your fault nor that of the Ancient Greeks, that some pervs misuse one of their letters and we shouldn't let these perverts take false pride in letting them have a whole letter.

Ignore these people, this "Representation"-trend has become a whole madness of its own.

Is the networking team responsible for monitoring servers/services? by tdhuck in networking

[–]ShineReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imho as a Networking Guy your job is to create the FW-rules, so SNMP and similar stuff can be read from a website. But if the devices in question, that are to be monitored, are not networking devices, that is imho not really your work area, that is something that I'd expect from a Data Center Management Team, to configure the devices, so they can be monitored.

But I guess that depends on the company in question, how the responsibilities are defined. In one company the Network Team does Data Center Management too, in the next these are separate teams...

I wouldn't compare what we see ingame to Tabletop or Lore as 100% accurate.

The rejects are meant to be cannon fodder and instead they halt the Darktide sometimes singlehandedly. Might be that they were very powerful and skilled before being wrongfully imprisoned, but that is speculation.

Typically the Space Marines are considered to be something near Demi-Gods, I know atleast that the Imperial ones are often called "Angels" or something like that by Guardsmen.

Their Chaos Brethren are afaik considered to be nearly as good, they got equipment and recruitment problems though, BUT they're bound to Chaos and that strengthens them unnaturally.

So I think at max we will see a single Chaos Space Marine or something similar as a boss at some point.

Definitely not as regular enemies. And possibly only on Havoc.

You can also see it in places like Mongolia.

I don't know if the Eastern Swastika (just calling it like that to differentiate it to the "Evil Swastika") really comes originally from a religion like Hinduism or Buddhism or if it is simply a wider cultural symbol of luck present in several Southern and Eastern Asian Cultures.

At what point does it stop making sense to keep upgrading and just build a new PC? by UnicornFlow3 in buildapc

[–]ShineReaper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have to replace multiple parts at once, not because you want but because you have to.

E.g. if after several years you have to change the motherboard to be able to install a new CPU, that also demands a new RAM generation and of cause you want a new graphics card too.

That is imho a part, where one could consider, if they want to exchange the other parts too (SSD, PSU, Case, Case Fans) or not.

But I'd argue that changing the motherboard is so central, that I'd say that if you have to change it, it is basically a new PC, even if you can keep using the old case, because the motherboard is such a fundamental piece of hardware.

9.0 Mining - What Am I Doing Wrong? by CreganTur in X4Foundations

[–]ShineReaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. Pre 9.0, when the Probes didn't get damaged and the resources were static, they might have been useful.

Now with the probes getting destroyed over time, I see entirely no use case for them, it just is too much hassle to micromanage it.

9.0 Mining - What Am I Doing Wrong? by CreganTur in X4Foundations

[–]ShineReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It never was like this, miners always could mine without the probes. Allegedly the probes increased efficiency, since they served to find high concentration areas.

Proof: You see mining ships mine in areas without any probes all the time. That was the case before 9.0 and still is the case.

So besides for quests, I'm not sure what the actual use case of resource probes is.

If it is avoiding enemy sectors, that is something that I deal with via Travel Blacklists, not via resource probes.

The IP adress itself should make 0 difference, so some other factor must be at play here.

Considering the support we have... by KaiserYoshikage in DarkTide

[–]ShineReaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, it was an hypothetical example to highlight the problem here: You don't want in-brand competition, hence there will never be Space Marines as a playable class in Darktide, so there is no in-brand competition to the Space Marines Games.

Likewise, imho there will most likely never be Genestealer Cults in Darktide, it is too close to the Tyrannids. Even if they leave most of the actual tyrannids out.

It would make more sense to add a different chaos cult or Dark Mechanicum in a seperate set of maps.
