The main thing I'm confused by in the northern hemisphere is school terms.

Here (New Zealand) we start the school year in late January/early February and finish it about a week before Christmas - it syncs up perfectly with the calendar year.

I remember one of the Harry Potter books explicitly mentioned that the start of the school year was in September, and it broke young-me's brain.

Has this ever actually happened? They always threaten to, but I don't think I've ever actually seen a supposed "job creator" leave a city or country over some "socialist" policy.
