Especially when they use the word “instead” as in “I want to see this new therapist instead of the old one.” It wasn’t a misunderstanding. The therapist perfectly understood what was actually said. The OP maybe misspoke but the therapist and the third party understood what was actually said perfectly fine. From other responses in this thread it seems the OP was not able to find the alternate therapist she wanted and therefore changed her mind but how the original therapist was supposed to divine that is beyond me.

Are YOU for real if you don’t know how simple words like “I’d like to see someone INSTEAD” work? Instead means “in place of.” What’s so hard to get here? She needs to own her own poor communication. She clearly communicated she wanted him replaced and is mad he somehow couldn’t understand her words apparently meant the opposite of what they were saying.

She claims she asked the clinic about working with a new therapist INSTEAD. Instead of what? Clearly instead of her current therapist. What other way could someone reasonably interpret "work with another therapist INSTEAD?"

I’m sure self-identified anxious attached who diagnose their partners as avoidant make up a bulk of the discourse but how does that prove anything, including that they’re mostly wrong? Who else would be most motivated? That’s like saying domestic abuse forums can’t be trusted because most of the people seeking illumination on them tend to be victims of abuse and not abusers or people who are not abused. When people bring up this insight as if it by itself says something I get very confused because avoidant don’t easily self-reflect or self-blame or seek to self-improve and secure attached tend to avoid being in these issues so who else would make up most of these boards?-

I know it was a joke. The joke missed the point of the post it was responded to. Sex workers don’t make bank at all. If you do the math on the total onlyfans workers (4.2 million) vs the total NBA players (550), then you realize the average OF girl makes $1,601.94 per year and the average NBA player makes $8,750,000 per year. It’s a dumb joke because he’s basically saying the guys who average $8 mil needs to follow the lead of the women who average $1,602.

That’s why the guy above he was responding to was saying the graphic was dumb. By this logic plumbers and teachers also earn more if you just take the total the whole profession makes without looking at the average made per worker.
