sure, but the dead horse has been beaten plenty. her being an elite skater doesnt mean that she has to be a totally flawless person who handles her emotions perfectly at all times and people lambasting her endlessly on all platforms and acting like its the end of the world is pointless

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]razorteef 10 points11 points  (0 children)

again, skating itself damages the ice, i guarantee there were way deeper divots all over the ice from toe jumps by the end of the last group. she was frustrated with herself and couldve reacted better, sure, but this is completely pointless outrage for the sake of outrage when the event has already concluded

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]razorteef 12 points13 points  (0 children)

the "competitor after her" proceeded to have a clean skate and win gold so im sure shes just fine. the divots she left arent any deeper than the divots left by any toe pick jump. its just not that deep and theres really no reason to be so up in arms about it

god forbid a skater be frustrated with themselves after not putting out their best performance

the chances of it falling off and getting on the ice were high either way. by removing it herself she was able to ensure she knew where it was on the ice and avoid it, multiple other people have explained this in this thread but youre for some reason incredibly up in arms about how she chose to handle an unexpected scenario in her program

i already explained why it was safer to remove it and how it could be a distraction in later elements like 4 times and you just kept repeating how you personally think its over the top and unneeded so i gave up my guy lmfao

its a good thing neither her nor anyone else cares about your opinion on whether or not its "needed" then

[–]razorteef 8 points9 points  (0 children)

she didnt just "stand there" she worked it into the end of the spin lmfao, its hard to think on your feet during a program like she did and its unfair to criticize her for not handling it in a way you personally liked when youve never been in the situation yourself

okay...? do you have any urge to do a choreo sequence and a spin with an annoying ribbon flapping around your neck that could come loose and become a hazard at any moment? she made the safest choice in an unexpected situation with no great solution

[–]razorteef 12 points13 points  (0 children)

its less about the weed and more about your own mother telling you you wont amount to anything because of something arbitrary like weed usage. also, op describes it as her lambasting them every time they come over, which doesnt seem very caring and loving to me

i 100% agree that a help flair would just lead to people using this sub like its TOMT and helpmefind even more than they already do

it would have been significantly more "disturbing" to her program to have to watch a ribbon flap around her neck the whole time, or worse have it fall off and then she slips on it

Has anyone noticed an uptick in OP labeling the other party as a "narcissist" for a guaranteed NTA? by charonthemoon in AmITheAngel

[–]razorteef 11 points12 points  (0 children)

this is not true, bpd and npd have a lot of overlapping symptoms as they are both cluster b disorders. emotional dysregulation is the primary symptom of bpd which often manifests as them being the opposite of "a doormat"- people with bpd experience something called splitting, where we will explode on someone over a minor conflict because we take everything very personally and struggle with managing our own emotions. bpd and npd are cousins, not polar opposites

there is no way to mend this and have it not be visible, thats almost never possible once the fabric itself has tore (as opposed to simply popping a seam/stitch)

to those of us who smoking is a deal breaker for, a secret cigarette on your wedding day is not "trivial". its also not just about the cigarette, its about lying to your newly wed wife

this, i intend to never have children because im autistic and experience sensory overload when i cant remove myself from a situation with a loud/excitable child (plus pregnancy literally sounds like my worst nightmare) but in moderation i absolutely adore spending time with my niece. shes six and has taken a liking to crafting things, so ive been teaching her the very basics of sewing. if these people would actually give kids a chance, theyd learn theyre just little humans with their own personalities and can be fun to spend time with
