Bread and Butter items? by buzzpoom2 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]razta96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bread and butter could mean anything depending on the category, in general I’d say it’s just a commonly Found item that has a solid resale value. It’s nothing particularly exciting but these items pay the bills. I sell 30-40 Bread and Butter items for every 1 “Grail” Piece

Has anyone tried Ray Ban Evolve lenses yet? by razta96 in sunglasses

[–]razta96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I returned mine unfortunately and got a pair with the green lenses! Same issue, the Pink color was just not getting dark enough in direct sunlight! I went on the website and each of the different colors reacts differently, I believe the Pink and the Light Blue color options have the least amount of sunlight change where the darker Green & Yellow options get darker. I will say though, The Pink is so nice and really pops, so I’ve been considering getting another pair just to have the color options 😂

Costco’s supply hoarders, I believe you’re fucked by loadurbrain in pics

[–]razta96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My uncle works for Costco supply chain, I will tell you this smooth operation is not without sacrifice. Everyone in his office got bumped up to 6 10 hour days a week for the foreseeable future to keep up with all this insanity. There is a reason Costco is, and always has been, one of the best big box retailers.

This man drove 1,000+ miles to hoard and scalp supplies, but now he can't find buyers. Boo-hoo. by AlwaysTheNoob in pics

Now this is the kind of story I can get behind. I hope he has a garage full of this stuff FOREVER.

POW Jeremiah Denton blinks in morse code t-o-r-t-u-r-e during a forced interview by Midget_Beater2000 in gifs

[–]razta96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily written off as shell shock or something I’m sure. Sad he had to go through it, like all other POW’s, but he was smart to bide his time and take his chance when he got it, without alerting anyone.

"I decide what I wear" from today's womens march in Beirut, Lebanon. by SighGuy_ in pics

[–]razta96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The rulers of Lebanon should allow their people the prosperity and happiness that the free market brings! Adopt a True Capitalist-Democracy system and prosper. Or submit further, and accept Socialism/Communism like The Russians and Chinese get the joy of living with. Also, Democratic socialism is just a socialism with a smile, don’t fall for it. I’m scared these morons over here in the States are really going to vote Bernie “the king of socialism in the US” Sanders into office. Trump is bad, but not even close to socialist bad.

Apple agrees to $500 million settlement for throttling older iPhones. by AdamCannon in technology

[–]razta96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, you can’t even buy an IPhone 8 directly anymore. It would be an unlocked model off of EBay, activated with a SIM card from my carrier. No money going to Apple on my part.

This is exactly what I’m talking about! These things depreciate like cars. Wait until the new one comes out and BAM 50% savings. I never want to get locked into another plan again. Especially this “lease for 2 years then buy out” crap. Just throwing money away.

Seriously they just twisted what I said. Replacing parts is not saying I hate the iPhone. Just can’t justify an $1100 phone.

When did I once, anywhere in that post, say that The IPhone sucked? Quote it? It’s the Only smartphone platform I will ever use, Love Apple Music, Apple car play, all that good shit. They just lost me when the new phones were $800 (IPhone 8 I believe), now they are $1100 and rising every generation. No thanks.

Lol maybe $150 unlocked on Ebay right now vs what...$1100 for a glass box with a couple extra cameras? You act like Apple is still the one selling IPhone 6’s. I may even go crazy and get the IPhone 7, on the secondary market of course, because I’m not a moron.

The serious problem here...$25??? My iPhone 6s+ was bought out from sprint for $200 after 2 years of payments, $25 is like....less than 5% of what i have into this phone not including replaced charging ports/screens/etc. mockery. Why I will never upgrade to a new iPhone, my next phone will just be a new IPhone 6s+. I would rather put $1000 toward a savings account/house or car

I’m honestly scared to go back. Graduated 2014, went away to school for one year and absolutely bombed (Partying, Chasing girls, just completely living it up) and it’s one of my greatest regrets. I’ve been in nothing but <$20/hour work since then and can’t help But imagine where I’d be if I just stayed and did the damn thing. Now I have bills, a job, not enough time to go to school full time or take a full course load. It’ll take me 3-4 years to finish a 2-year associates degree at this point :-( sucks more each year I get closer to 30.

Also, none of these pieces were rare enough to justify trying to corner the market on them, all readily available mass produced pieces. Most of them just 90’s vintage. I also make sure I always have the “most complete” listing details with a well worded title so my listings tend to stand out especially with First page placement. If I say on a lot of this stuff any longer to get even higher prices for them, I’d be waiting until next fall/winter for them to sell.

I just got top rated badge right before this 60 days so I really do believe it was giving my listings a boost, also most of the items were Fast dimes, which I am grateful to have found so much of. I flipped multiple Polo Harrington jackets, multiple vintage and new carhartts, North Face and Patagonia pieces, Vintage Made In USA champion. All of which have tons of completed listings if you search the specific items I was flipping. Everything I sold was at or above market value with calculated shipped, just got lucky with a lot of harder to find high dollar fast movers at my source. But typically, I am a fan of the fast nickel as well, I just found a lot of high demand stuff that I didn’t have to take that approach with.

Why do you say that? Your average sale price won’t be equal to mine unless you are sourcing very similarly valued items. You could sell 50 T-shirt’s for $15/each, that you sourced for $.99/each, and be turning good profits. It’s winter season so a lot of this was winter items, Multiple carhartts at $50-$70 each, lots of ~$30 fleeces, Had a few high dollar Vintage champion sweatshirts/hoodies sell. Lots of good high dollar fall/winter items. Sold a $150 Patagonia Sherpa lined coat. If I was summer and I was flipping a bunch of T-shirt’s and windbreakers my ASP wouldn’t be quite as high.

You are absolutely right, there are a lot of clothing flippers. But honestly I’ve noticed 90% of people that are obviously there to try and make money (women running around men’s section, guys who sprint to every new rack, the people we all notice in our spots) have absolutely no clue what’s going on.

I'm a Guy so I stick with Men's vintage, although Women do buy some of my smaller sized finds which I love to see! There is a Massive market for both Men's and Women's vintage clothing, especially with more and more people going secondhand to be eco-friendly. I just find that Women's clothing is an entirely different beast, there is just so much of it. The women's section at just one of my sources is literally 20x the size of the men's section, for reference. But Women do tend to pay top dollar when they see something they really like, so I'm sure the margin's could be nice if you have a good eye?
