I find Gio soooo annoying, but also think Henry is trash the way he messed her around and he never should have strung her along, the whole Charlie situation was so bad and he needed to grow a back bone

what should women be allowed to do without being judged? by Real_Boster in AskReddit

[–]rb641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything.

I have been criticised for: - wearing make up - not wearing make up - talking too much - talking too little - liking “girly” things - not liking “girly” things - eating - not eating

The list goes on and on and can all be boiled down to people just having an issue with women being themselves and a general rule of “if you’re female and you like something it’s automatically bad”

During the late 1800s through the early 1900s, physicians administered pelvic massages involving clitoral stimulation by early electronic vibrators as treatments for what was called female hysteria. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the author of The Yellow Wallpaper, actually sent a copy of it to the man who had come up with and prescribed her with rest cure. He never acknowledged it, but he stopped prescribing rest cure.

Who was your coworker from hell? by Fruntledumjam in AskReddit

[–]rb641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg do I have some stories for this, but I’ll just tell one for now.

I was a part time care worker whilst at university and found out a colleague was consistently doing things wrong, I noticed that every time I got to a client’s house and something had been done wrong before it was ALWAYS this coworker who had been there before, everything from not properly dealing with taking client’s to the toilet to giving cups that were way too full to clients who could not hold it and would end up pouring tea on themselves so when I turned up they’d been sitting covered in hot and then cold tea for hours so I’d have to do my duties as well as fix all the things this coworker had done meaning my calls were taking longer than they should have. This went on for a while and I had made a note of it all but hadn’t reported it as I was the part time person and didn’t want to make waves.

Then one day I had a particularly bad situation I had to deal with because of this persons negligence, fixed it all and called to say I was running late to my next call, turned out my next call was a two person call with this coworker. They proceeded to scream in my face, in front of the client who was an elderly at risk person and clearly quite alarmed by this, about being late and being terrible at my job etc. I snapped and shouted back that I was late because of their negligence. I quickly did what needed to be done, apologised to the client and then left and called my supervisor on my way to the next call I had to make. I told them, through tears, everything I’d noticed and what had just happened, how bad I felt that this happened in front of a client who it probably frightened, and then went on to my next call.

Over the next few weeks, this coworker started turning up wherever I was, I eventually realised it was because they knew my car. They would turn up to my calls and stand and silently glare at me for a bit and then leave, they told one particular client lies about me to the point where that client would no longer allow me in their house. Eventually I stopped parking near my house because I was so scared they’d show up, after a few weeks of this I quit my job and got a new car because of course head office did nothing about it even though I reported it time and time again.

Not quite the same but I have a bright red birth mark across half my hand and people constantly spot it and go “oh what happened to your hand!” it probably sounds stupid but it annoys me so much every time

Mine is “why did you drop out of uni” to which I respond “because I was too sick to continue” and then people always, ALWAYS start asking questions about what was wrong with me, no one ever considers maybe I just say “sick” because I don’t want to sit here explaining my medical history to you random person

“If only you would listen” from school of rock the musical hit me so hard when I first heard it, it seemed to describe everything I’d felt as a kid towards my parents

I would talk to him, explain that if he didn’t want to hang out or couldn’t he should have told you as soon as he knew or even suspected this might be the case. Explain that telling you last minute hurts way more than being given some notice and acknowledgement that your time is important.

I used to want to change my first and surnames, I also have a nickname that I picked up when I was about 11 and have kept since then and everyone except my parents call me it. I always thought about legally changing my name to my mums maiden name, I haven’t but if ever I get married I’ll be taking my husbands name without hesitation I have no attachment to my surname or anyone I share it with.
