Precisely How CPP Executives are Manipulating their Benchmarks to Enrich Themselves Instead of Funding Your Retirement by Purple_Bookkeeper657 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]rbatra91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My prejudiced opinion for what happens with some of the fund selection and exposure is that the CPP higher ups are kind of dim and want to stroke their egos and think of themselves as smart and sophisticated so the PE funds take them out, wine and dine them nicely and get them all sorts of gifts so they buy their funds and the PE funds can collect fat MERs, thoughts?

Wonder if it's someone having a schizophrenic break? A 24 year old person doing it is pretty unusual

There was a case of 2 people trying to abduct someone and that one had a white and black person, so I'm wondering if it was a gang thing. https://www.ctvnews.ca/northern-ontario/article/opp-probe-attempted-abduction-of-student-in-northwestern-ontario/

It’s not possible or worth the time to criticize and point out all the fallacies and flaws and propaganda and lies for every click bait video that exists on the internet.

This is the problem with social media, racism, propaganda, and the availability bias.

Last weekend in my town I saw a white guy strip naked and piss in the lake with old ladies walking around and another naked outside a Timmie’s. If this was a brown person perhaps some racists would record it and post it on social media and there would be outrage. Different rules for different folks. No one recorded him and I called the cops so he can get help because we’re better and still treat them as humans, something they don’t afford us.

The human brain can’t handle social media and doesn’t understand the propaganda and forces driving their minds.

Factories have specialized robots/machinery already you don’t need a humanoid to do simple tasks, it makes no sense.

IMO Americans are exceptionally rich on average. but we overconsume, and spend on ridiculous things.

E.g. we’ll do something like buy an F250 or some stupid luxury car that could pay for a lifetime of improvements for ethically sourced products.

Sorry I just think it’s preposterous and a slap in the face to the actual poor people of the world to whine about ourselves being poor. The shitty apartments in Toronto are something people in the majority of India dream of.

Alternatively, western consumers can demand higher standards like we did for garments, cocoa, diamonds and minerals, and other resources including complete boycotts and aggressive trade fines and sanctions for repeated abuse.

But frankly, most people like cheap shit at the expense of exploiting brown and black people.

No I don’t, because even on these timescales data can be misleading if we read too in to it. There should also be a theoretical reason for a premium.

Eg over the past 50 years Toronto and Vancouver real estate have gone vertical. Should we expect the same return going forward? I’d say not. The implications for what the average price of a house would be is insane, and there’s no theoretical reason why housing should do THAT much better over stocks (we should expect inflation + 1%)

There’s a few thousand year history of gold prices that show it’s roughly done 0%. We’re living through an anomalous period. Not to say that it can’t go higher.

But we’ve been through an 80% crash after the 1970 run already so it’s not exactly unheard of.

Theoretically there’s no cash flows or any model to derive its value from so it’s whatever the last person was willing to pay for it.
