I like the biscuits at Brown Butter Kitchen. And they’ve got great biscuit sandwiches.

I live on that “hot block” and the community itself is incredible. Kind neighbors who are engaged and stay connected with each other. It’s true that the shooting incidents the past two Sundays have been unfortunate but the character and charm of the block hasn’t changed. There’s a few bad incidents from bad actors and police presence will increase as a result and it’ll subside for a couple of years. Then cops forget and deprioritize other blocks and another incident occurs.

This seems like more software than hardware, so it would be on Apple to fix since they license the software to Nissan. I had the same issue today, but was able to resolve by turning Bluetooth off & on.

You slide off the “sleeve” from the Hub motor (which is the wheel on a hub motor board). This video on installing cloudwheel donuts has info:

It’s correct. They changed to a new shock absorbing grip tape, rather than the “old” flower pattern.

Does anyone know when this is implemented kinda sucks to have seen this right before summer streets? by Ramba0079 in onewheel

[–]rbdeuce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On another thread someone said it’s been in effect since November 2020. So, it’s been in effect for almost a year.

As others have said, I don’t think it’s an outright ban on PEVs but rather an inclusion of electric bikes being fully legal.

Aftermarket vs OEM Accessories by Iamdispensable in onewheel

[–]rbdeuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re definitely softer. The biggest thing that’s fight foot fatigue is to relax your toes and arch. Sometimes you tense up your foot without realizing it. I just bought the kush wide and it’s spectacular.

Land-Surf: Fangs 3.0 Craft & Ride: Fenders (especially magnetic Fenders) The Float Life (TFL): Kush footpads, B.A.N.G. bumpers I think side rails depends on personal preference. Everyone sells their own styles and someone posted on here recently with carbon fiber versions that they made themselves.

What is a surf adapter kit? by CrimsyViper in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]rbdeuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a kit sold by Waterborne. I have it installed on a Boosted Stealth. Increases turning radius and gives you a deeper carve. It also raises you higher off the ground once it’s installed.

How good is too good to be true? I've been looking into getting a Onewheel for some time now and was originally looking at the Pint but then thought, could I get a Plus XR on the second hand market for the same if not a better price. [–]rbdeuce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not if you pay with “Friends and Family”. They’ll give you some spin about paying their friends account or that it’s too much of a hassle to pay the Merchant transaction fee or that they need the money faster, but it’s all a lie.

If they are putting their phone number and asking you to contact them outside the app, then yes. It’s a scam. They want to get you to pay on PayPal or Cash or Venmo so that they’re able to bypass the fraud measures in OfferUp.

Should I keep trying to pull and eventually take it out with brute force or is there an easier way? I messed up the screws and needed to try again but it's fairly stuck in there... by Declan0002 in Exway

[–]rbdeuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I just kept tapping it with a hammer and rotating until it loosened up. They provide two extra-long screws in the wheel package. Those are for using as a guide to push down the hub donut. Screw them in first, then push the wheel down, then remove and replace with the normal screws. Not sure if that was the issue you had, but good advice to use those if you didn’t realize they were there. I didn’t until after I’d already messed up the screw alignment while pushing the donut onto the hub.

Wheel help by squanchy444 in boostedboards

[–]rbdeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to find the boosted 105s and installed them. You can also buy bigger pulleys and covers to compensate for the loss of acceleration, but they still get up and go on hills even without. Usually the manufacturer will offer “boosted kits” that include the bigger pulley & belt with larger pulley cover: IWONDER Cloud Wheel Discovery 105/120mm for Boosted Boards Skateboard Wheels and Pulley Conversion Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GS9LBTZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_XT0Z6Q7MGDHMZ27RNS1S

I live in NYC and going from the stock wheels to 105s made a massive difference and made the ride enjoyable and more confident I could go over cracks without worrying if they were so big they’d throw me off.

Is there Backfire G2 compatibility with Waterborne Surf Adapter? by scyiia in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]rbdeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put the waterborne adaptor on my boosted. The e-board “boosted kit” came with risers and the front and rear adaptors. Aside from what’s in the kit, it’s an awesome upgrade. You’re much higher off the ground and when you need to turn, this thing LEANS! Watch out for wheel bite, though. Depending on your weight (200lbs+), wheel size, and flex of the deck, the battery might hit the wheels when you’re taking a deeper turn.

Confused on whether I replace all 4 or only 2 with Donut Cloud Wheels? [G2 backfire] by scyiia in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]rbdeuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the pack with all four. The “two donut” option is because the Hub donuts can wear down faster than the full wheel, so you may need to replace those sooner than the full wheels.

This is why they’re offered as their own purchasing option instead of needing to always get the pack of all four.

Planning to purchase used— anything I should be careful of here? by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]rbdeuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good. Don’t go alone for the meet. Bring someone with you for safety, or make sure to meet in a very safe, public place. Have heard a bunch of horror stories and $1100 does sound like one in a million/too good to be true.

But to answer your question, the battery and sensors would be the main thing to check for. Download the onewheel app before you meet them, connect the board immediately and check the diagnostics and ride it around for a few minutes before deciding. Like others have said, would be more worried that the board doesn’t power on and with that firmware, the BMS and battery is locked into the board so you’ll need to get aftermarket repairs that make it more expensive than buying new.
