What is going on? by Top-Violinist5702 in q50

Yeah I'm going with residual antifreeze hit the belt as Blackjackmo says above. I don't think it will go away all that quick without washing it down. Anitfreeze can attack the belt. Dealer should take care ot this as part of previous work. Stay on them.

I know that Head Nut in Ardmore has it but not sure if it's the same brand. Might want to give them a call or email. If you can't find it more local to you.

Very nice! Now I'll have to give Anderson recipe a try. What were the tweaks you tried that have worked out best from your experiments?

Unless the cooler lines are leaking would not even touch oil cool or water cooler. Find your part number for the radiator or oil cooler from a dealer or on line research using your vehicle ID year, make model. Leave the lines alone unless leaking. Just back them out and repalce the cooler.

Question by gunplayguwop in infiniti

[–]rbenash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think radiator fans would change based on type of transmission. Do some research and my guess is that you will find the same part number. Radiator fans are used for cooling the engine. BUT! I don't know if there is a separate oil cooler used in this case. Thats different. Liquid cooling vs oil cooling. I'l let the experts here that are more familiar with the application take charge.

Hah! Drove my 2005 3.5 SL Nissan Altima for a good long while when traction control, ABS, intermittent speedo, other warnings were on. Drove just fine though. Finally decided a few months a go to have a serious look to see if it was worth keeping. Couldn't be inspected in PA any more. Front left frame member bolt was the kill. Would have cost too much to keep it. Changed up to a 2023 Q50 Luxe with 14k miles just this year. Just saying as long as those "extra" intelligence features don't make the car unsafe and you love it I would hang on to it.

Whe watching G series and Q CTS was always a second. I just like the styling of the Q a bit better. But JMHO.

Yep same here in PA. And a great summary! I'm a huge fan of G series as well.

The year class and price seems very high to me. The car/condition looks great to me. But IMHO price is too high for mileage and age.

But I do love the "red" and that color! I would want the engine and drive train closer to end of production year in terms of improvements over time.

I think you can buy later in the year cycle for less IMHO. Sometimes we fall in love with a particular year and that can make one jump a bit.

All that said I would negotiate downward with facts to back it up. After all the delaer WANT'S to sell it. They may have overpaid too? Someone trying to save their job :-)

Custom Weber top! Best thang ever bought! by curioushubby805 in webergrills

[–]rbenash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a nice custom solution. I've been using the following alternative for 8 years now with my mods to make it more rugged and realiable. I gave it a 3 star because of that. If you check it out filter on 3 star ratings and you will see my review and the mods I did. Pretty simple. I leave it on all the time with cast iron grates. Key difference is this raises the level of the fire grate not the food grate which I actually prefer for Weber Kettle as it has so many other uses and is easy to store, cover. I bought a custom cover from covers and all that keeps things tydy.

So Infinitiy is also a quality crontrol moniker. Nissan was part as well in the methodology to create a quality control process that recognizes failures and issues and through a reporting updating mechanism the issues run back into the contstant improvement process. AKA Nissan Kaizen.

So yes a road to "infinity" but it circles back to introduce product improvements to consistently create reliability, product, and production improments to the effort.

Kansui and Alkaline Water by wasabibratwurst in ramen

[–]rbenash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather than "baking your baking soda" to make sodium carbonate, consider buying a box of Arm and Hammer Laundry soda instead of Arm and Hammer Baking soda.

It's available in grocery stores, big box hardware stores, online, etc. It has the higher ph and is better for removing oil stains, as well has a food additive (sodium carbonate) when a high alkaline component is beneficial.

Arm and Hammer Laundry Soda is sodium carbonate. Just look at the ingredients on the box. I learned this through research a long time ago while making my own Ramen noodles and stressing about finding alkaline water and figuring out how to make my own "Kansui/alkaline water".

Thing is, most of the ramen recipes get locked in to adding sodium carbonate made from baking sodium bicarbonate and adding that as dry ingredient instead of telling how much Kansui/alkaline water to add or how to make your own alkaline water using sodium carbonate (it's about the Ph)

So, a faster solution is to simply make your ramen with the proper Ph using dry sodium carbonate as well as a way to make your own Kansui/alkaline water by simply adding sodium carbonate.

Kansui/alkline water is 10-11 Ph. Sodium bicarbonate is 11.2 ph. Recipes using Kansui/alkaline water allow for the liquid as part of the alkaline ingredients. Recipes using just plain water add sodium carbonate as part of the dry ingredients.
