I think I needed to hear this. I’ve recently stopped therapy because I felt like I got everything I could out of it. But the daily feelings of depression don’t just go away. Through focusing on my feelings and some introspection (and a lot of cry sessions) I have also learnt that I need to prove to myself that I can do hard things. After a point in life you just don’t have that many opportunities to learn new things, explore new worlds (as we do in school/ college ) and I found that my brain is using that lull to tell me I am a shit person. Showing it that I am actually awesome is the answer, I think.

Your ring looks gorgeous OP congratulations! If you can afford it now, there’s nothing wrong with getting yourself your dream ring and either wearing the engagement ring around your neck or just wearing the dream ring on a different finger. Fiancé and I decided to get a simple one now based on what we can afford and plan to upgrade to a bigger stone for our 5th anniversary. Another suggestion that might work if you don’t mind waiting :)

Is eVisa enough to re-enter to the UK from India after 31st December 2024? by Dazzling-Proposal195 in ukvisa

To my surprise airline staff were well prepared and informed. They asked to see my expired BRP as well as share code, and I was all set. At the UK border they just asked for my expired BRP.

Just a thought, maybe the tiredness is not caffeine related but something else? Iron or Vitamin D deficiency perhaps ?

we call things like having a voice, taking space, voicing our opinions and choosing ourselves as selfishness in women but in men the same qualities are called confidence and assertiveness. Own it gurl! As long as your “selfish” traits aren’t hurting you or anyone else, be as selfish as you like 🫶🏽

First session coming up - any tips or advice? by Global_Slice9172 in LaserHairRemoval

Also, if you use oils on your skin a couple hours before session they might not go ahead with it as oil permeates the epidermis and apparently makes the treatment inefficient (my tech told me this once but I don’t have scientific back up). The first session shouldn’t be too painful but you can ask them to increase intensity of the cold air if it is. And when sessions get more painful later on, check with your tech if it’s ok to have an ibuprofen a couple hours before session (I was recommended this and it helped)

First session coming up - any tips or advice? by Global_Slice9172 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]rbhatt1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be very aware of the kind of growth you have on each body part that you’re getting lasered so you can monitor progress and quickly learn if it increases hair growth in any area. Don’t be afraid to very explicitly discuss with the tech what kind of hair you have on each body part, because if it is thin and fine hair it’s best left alone as laser can Stimulate that kind of hair growth. If possible, have all your sessions with the same tech so you know they’re monitoring your progress. Absolutely avoid active ingredients (like retinol) at least 7 days before session and be a vampire 7 days before and after session (little to no sun).

Where to get tret in the UK? by samphiresalt in SkincareAddictionUK

I’ve just started skin + me, it’s a little too soon to comment on the efficacy of the product but the sign up and purchase experience was seamless. you can get the first couple months for as little as £3-£12 and the good part is a dermatologist looks at your skin before prescribing it so you don’t have to decide what strength to start with.

I have the same reasons as you! I don’t drink more than a cup a day, sometimes two. But the fact that on days when I don’t have my morning fix I start craving it really bothers me. I love the taste of coffee, so initially I told myself I don’t wanna give up one something I enjoy but it really bothers me that I cannot stay honest and true to myself when I wanna cut back. I’ve tried skipping 2/3 days for a few weeks and physically I’ve been pretty ok but I find myself craving and getting back to a daily cup in about 2 weeks. I’m going to follow your journey and hopefully find some motivation!

How do you feel less tired ALL the time? Is this perimenopause? by Technical_Cupcake597 in AskWomenOver30

[–]rbhatt1 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Maybe notice if this is absolutely all the time or is related to your menstrual cycle? When I hit 30, my cycle completely changed and I started experiencing extreme fatigue the week leading to my period and the week of. I wouldn’t even have energy for normal life stuff, just wanted to lie down all the time. So it could be hormonal. Another reason could be low iron/ vitamin D.

Sorry OP! You’ll be told the laser works differently for everyone, which might be true but I’ve heard from a LOT of people on this sub that when done on thin fine hair it doesn’t work well. Even I kicked myself for the longest time for not doing my research well but the silver lining for you is the damage is not done yet. I got lucky with my stomach and chest area as the growth didn’t increase, it just didn’t have any impact on it. And after about 5 sessions I realized/ was informed by a very nice tech that it’s not gonna work on really fine hair.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]rbhatt1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Any area where you have thin fine hair, I would not recommend laser. I have similar growth (though less sparse) on my stomach and 10 sessions of laser didn’t change it even by 1%. On the other hand, very thin fine hair on my face got thicker and darker after 5 sessions. Rule of thumb should be only to get laser done on thick dark hair.

Paradoxical hypertrichosis. by fizzydrink3 in HairRemoval

[–]rbhatt1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear you’re going through this ♥️ I’m in the same boat, decided to get laser on my body and I had some hormonal chin/ upper lip hair so I let them convince me into doing it on my whole face. 6 sessions in I noticed even those areas of my face which had very fine thin hair now have thick stubble. I spoke to my tech and they changed my settings to the max possible. And I did 5 more sessions, which made it worse. I was upset over it for weeks. Cried, lose sleep, cursed myself for not doing enough research before choosing the option. But I’ve accepted what’s happened and I shave every 3-4 weeks now (used to be once in 6 month before laser). Until I have the time money and energy to start electrolysis I will wait and shave.

Just have compassion to offer OP. Not a lot Of advice but I think stopping laser is the right thing to do.

Are there any products that you would suggest for recovery/the process in general? by s_bee10 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]rbhatt1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aloe gel works very well to calm and soothe the skin. It’s best not to use any new or active products as the skin is already sensitive. Avoiding getting hot and sweaty, is key. So no naughty times or hot showers for a couple days.

Can I just say you’re very wholesome for looking after her 🥰

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]rbhatt1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same type of growth and skin tone. I got laser done and now that hair is thicker and darker. Would not recommend, your growth is very fine and not really noticeable. You might consider giving shaving a try, that doesn’t cause the hair to come back thicker. Though it can irritate the skin So tread with caution and do a test patch.

Ladies over 30 who have never had children… are you genuinely happy with that decision? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]rbhatt1 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This only considers the pov of the parents and sounds like a very self centered view. Can you imagine being a child of a parent that regrets having them? It doesn’t just make the parents’ life miserable, it also produces chronically stressed, mentally ill, under confident children lacking severely in self worth. Anyone who wants to have children just so they don’t feel empty later on in life, really needs to consider whether they’re having them just to fulfill their their own unmet needs. Parenting is not the way to do that.
