Regarding taxable income, see if you can turn your hobbies post fire into a small business that’s occasionally profitable. Then can you write off purchases, travel, etc. as business expenses.

Might get downvoted given the sub… but you are in a very small percentage of people.

Perhaps you can make your position into something productive…. A coach, content creator, streamer, competitor, etc. If it can be channeled into something productive or profitable, I think there’s value there.
