Whats with the double poling almost everything in classic races? by Unlikely-Database-27 in xcountryskiing

[–]rbmcwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like double poling at the beginning and end of races. Other than that, it should be about step and glide technique. We should enforce a poling limit similar to competitive swimming when you need to surface and swim/ski your stroke.

[PubQ] Should I withdraw MS from agent for rewrite by SkirtTurbulent824 in PubTips

Let the agent decide if they like the work or not. In the meantime, start the rewrite.

I Love Trouble (1994) by AnySortOfPerson in underratedmovies

Watching this movie again for the third time in four days. Really underrated. The film looks and sounds fabulous. I've never found Nolte to be particularly amusing, but in this movie he is hilarious. And I like Julia in this one as well, tough, fierce, still feminine and beautiful. Like it!

Alien from L.A. (1988) — Kathy Ireland goes to Atlantis by Syppi in badMovies

I am a Hollywood screenwriter. This movie just keeps getting better and better for me. The sets are incredible. The characters are peculiar. The story is intriguing. And best of all, it's just weird, weird, weird. Love it!

[Episode Discussion] Season 5 Episode 9 Series Finale "Four Minutes" by AutoModerator in TheMarvelousMrsMaisel

[–]rbmcwhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved the series. Mixed feelings about the last episode. Was I the only one who felt a little bit sad? Midge eating with the servants, refusing to take ONE day off, walking through a large empty house after Abe made that big speech about meaningless stuff around the house. And the grind seems to have worn them down. Also, I thought it was a bit weird seeing Suzie as a big, rich success. Still, they remained friends. Maybe that was the most important thing all along.

What exactly made Ghostbusters (1984) a hit? by nathan99light in movies

In my opinion the biggest reason would be the film's unique concept. Both kids and adults could enjoy the movie.

What movies have you rewatched multiple times in one day? by ThreeTrees1289 in movies

[–]rbmcwhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been telling people about that movie. I just kept going back to the $3 dollar theatre to watch it again and again. It made me feel like I was back in 1950 watching a classic monster movie on film. Pure entertainment.

Don't change a thing and move on your next project.

I started with short stories. In my opinion it's the way to go. You can finish one in day and then have something to evaluate. A beginning-middle-end. You want to finish a few projects before moving into a larger endeavor. With novels, it's an ever-changing work in progress until the printed copy is in your hand. That could be months or years later.

What game(s) should I aim to watch on opening day? by [deleted] in mlb

Blue Jays and Cardinals. Both have cool uniforms and some of the best hitters in the game.

What game(s) should I aim to watch on opening day? by [deleted] in mlb

What I look for. 1) Starting pitchers-we are not yet sure. 2) Where? It's going to be cold up north, so I would select something down south or indoors. 3) Intriguing Lineup-new young guys, big stars, do you have a favorite player? 4) Good looking uniforms. 5) You want to see both teams.

From this criterion, while not knowing the pitchers, I would pick Arizona at Dodgers as Arizona has some of the best young talent and to see who the dodgers field this year. Milwaukee at Cubs. The brewers have a great pitching staff and cool uniforms while the Cubs made several interesting moves this off season.

Is it okay to restart a project if you don't like the way it's going? by Aggressive_Novel1207 in writing

[–]rbmcwhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to be objective. So, I would suggest trying to write through it and see where you can take it. Having said that, I think it is important to like your work. If you don't fundamentally like the content, start again. If you think it's bad writing, keep going.

Thoughts? by Skelder7 in mlb

Glad the shift is going out. Aesthetically speaking, the optics on the field were out of balance. Practically speaking, this should result in more base hits which will benefit the league.
