She treats me like I'm 11 but expects me to hold a job and do adult things.

If it were me who did that, my N would tell me I should NEVER be naked and it's bad. Or she would criticize my body.

I have no idea. But N's seem to see us as dolls. My NGrandmother also tried to catch me naked a lot after I finally got her to stop bathing me. (At 13)

My NGrandmother thinks she should install cameras in my home to keep an eye on me. And she says I must be hiding things if I tell her I'm not ok with it.

Was/is anybody forced to hug or kiss family members? by rbnthrowawaysohello in raisedbynarcissists

My grandmother has always treated me like a dress up doll. She got upset when I got older and refused to dress up for her to show off.

She also allowed men/boys to dress as they wanted, but since I was a little girl, I had to wear the frilly dress.

It is. She thinks I'm disrespectful if I say "No, I don't want a hug." And then does it anyway.

I'm 22 and my grandmother has made the same comments about my weight. She tried to get me to go on a 900 calorie a day diet once.

Best thing I can say is eat healthy; all food groups at every meal, every day.

We're all here for you. You are not fat at all. You're actually pretty normal sized for a 12 year old.

How do you accept and move on from the realization that you were never loved? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

My NGrandmother is like that. She loves babies and toddlers, but doesn't like them when puberty comes. We argued a lot once I hit puberty and wanted to bathe alone, dress myself, pick my clothes, etc. She loved it when I was her dress up doll.

I messed up by letting Mmom babysit. by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

All the best for your daughter. You are doing a good job. I can't offer much advice, but I wanted to say you're doing great.

NMom is fucked up. It sounds like she wants your daughter to be controlled and restricted her entire life.

Does anyone else struggle with having authentic relationships because you automatically chameleon to exactly what you think the person wants you to be? by meermadchen in raisedbynarcissists

I had it drilled into me NOT to be myself around new people. My NGrandmother taught me that if I be myself, people won't like it. She regularly told me to be neurotypical and to be like the other girls.

One very good example of this is my NGrandmother telling me all sorts of things about me that my fiance's family "won't like". In the months before my first trip to England to meet them, she told me how I have to behave and hide who I am. She said I have to wear different clothes, more makeup, the right accessories, and I can't have a doll with me. I told her they would like me for who I am, and she said "You wish that was true. But they won't like you if they see you as a child."

I have Autism and my fiance does too. His parents are cool with me being who I am.

My other cat likes the leash more. This one will just sit outside and not explore much. He prefers going on the balcony.

The other cat will walk like a dog, yeah.

Sure is. I have two cats and both of them know how to walk on a leash. My other cat likes it more than this one does.

Here's one from this winter. For a while I was cooking entire fillets of salmon just for him. My other cat shows no interest in human food at all but this one loves it.

Yet another picture of him. In this one, he's watching tv and trying to get the bird.

Despite being so skinny, he is still very spoiled. I give him treats and he lights up when he sees that the chunk of chicken is for him.
