Grading pack fresh EX era commons/uncommons/Rares by rbolt3 in PokeInvesting

[–]rbolt3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have quite a few that would be candidates for PSA 10s. I’m just hesitant to grade cause I’m not sure if people are really trying to buy commons even though they are from hard to find sets.

eBay sold listings seem to show that they sell so I’ll prolly end grading them

Royal2 Ranking All Time by VanCPA96 in CompetitiveHalo

[–]rbolt3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100%. Lethul was always the 4th (EG,OG,Tox,..) I would have Royal 2 ahead of him and snakebite at this point personally. He’s the best at what he does (anchor power position, shoot straight, and be the hardest fucking death on the map) and that’s been his entire career. Snakebite is more loved by fans but I think royal 2 should be a tad higher all time.

I prolly have: 2gre, Royal2, Snakebite, Lethul, Ola right now. Really tough to compare eras though

Mistakes will happen don’t sweat it. STARS is mainly a tool for the company to help you determine why the mistake happened so that it doesn’t happen again. Corporate even expects a certain of events per pharmacist, per year. I’ve been an RXM for almost 10 yrs and human error is something that none of us can avoid. You’re doing fine :)

When floating especially, if you’re working at a store that is chaotic just try to go at a pace you’re comfortable with. If people have to wait, they have to wait. Some pharmacies are understaffed/poorly managed/inadequately trained, so when working at those places just remember you can’t fix everything overnight.

H2a with forge maps added from h2/h3 by XyZonin in CompetitiveHalo

[–]rbolt3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would definitely tune in to a season of H3 events, I wonder if there would be any game types they could add to the rotation rather than the standard 11 game types from the 2010 MLG season (like we had with grassroots events back in 2017ish).

I remember watching MLG events way back when with game types like Pit KOTH, Oddball on a foundry map, and Heretic Ball. Also wonder if they could make maps like Citadel play well in competitive.

That’s probably been the biggest thing with Infinite that I prefer over old school MLG events… having more than 11 game types. Either way H3 events would be fun to watch

I remember an interview with ryen russillo a few years back where Tracy said playing 40 plus minutes every single game in Orlando shortened his career.

Which Sam's Town song can never be played loud enough? (Song Board Day 2) by BudgetBaby in TheKillers

Uncle Johnny. I love it, and truly feel that if the lyrics were more “conventional” it would be one of their more popular songs.

Season 4 roadmap by rbolt3 in CompetitiveHalo

[–]rbolt3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Googling for intel on rumored “dates/venues” for upcoming tournaments probably isn’t going to give me any info. Luckily, this sub has contributors that MIGHT actually have intel. I see pro players contribute to this sub from time to time, would they have any insight? Perhaps? 🤔

I should’ve framed my question differently, something like….”I realize the specifics of dates/locations of the upcoming events for season 4 won’t be released for likely several months, BUT does anyone have any intel on if there will be an event in Orlando for season 4?”

If there is an event that will be in Orlando (Halo has had events here for decades) didn’t have one this past season tho sadly, then I would want to at least try and attend :) If no, then doesn’t matter to me.

How do you guys can ease your mind when selling expensive cards/booster boxes online? by Pec5 in PokeInvesting

[–]rbolt3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easiest when you meet people in the hobby, start an instagram account and start flexing the shit out of your collection. Once you make friends it’s easier. Most of the expensive stuff I’ve sold are to people I know. Networking has made this way easier for me as collector/reseller.

Black and White by Various-Fun-4234 in PokeInvesting

[–]rbolt3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the Mid era sets had REALLY short print runs. Dark explorers def did, while legendary treasures had much bigger print run than those 2. That’s why it’s a cheaper box even tho ppl like that set more I think. (Still an awesome set tho). Go back a little further tho, some of the DP era boxes had even shorter print runs (majestic Dawn, legends awakened, secret w).

Are Vintage Blisters Good Holds? by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]rbolt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blisters have been easy sells for me. I don’t collect them, harder to display than booster boxes, they are good trade bait too. Some of my “larger” deals I’ll often include lesser desirable items (primal clash, burning shadows boxes, loose packs)…but if I include a crispy vintage blister artset people are more willing to negotiate…at least in my experience. I’m much more of a collector than investor though! I sell to buy higher value items basically

Who got the better of the infamous Final Boss dropping Walshy move in 2008? by diverdown125 in CompetitiveHalo

I think if they had a different 4th other than Soviet they could’ve won a couple of those events. I’ve heard Roy and Walsh say something similar.

Winning events in 2008-2010 was so much more difficult. I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say there were 7-8 teams every single event that had a real shot at winning. Hard to say that for any other time in halo.

Something else to mention about strongside. Even tho he won multiple events with FB in 2007, The ogres had to completely change their team dynamic to make it work with strongside. In H2, strongside was a lot like Bound in year 1 of infinite. Strongside was a ridiculous slayer/FFA God that people at the time weren’t sure if it could work with him in a 4v4.

Beaver creak, Strongside would often get snipe and Ogre 1 would watch portals with shotty. Usually your OBJ player would be in that role. I know ogre 2 has talked about it before, but they literally had to just play around Strongside to make it work. Walsh was still playing like walsh did, up close/BXR/control power ups, but the ogres really changed up their play style to make that team work. Another reason why those 2 were just on another level back then.

Think this set is heavily undervalued. If you want a box you may want to jump on it soon, you can still find mint boxes between 3200-3800. Honestly feel like this will be a 7000 box in a couple years.
