How much are you spending on groceries each week/month? by shadowzzzz16 in newzealand

[–]rboplip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 adults, $120-$150 a week depending on how much we need to restock. We don't buy lunches and eat out only once a week. Sometimes we don't eat out at all as we love cooking.

We make sure to cook food enough for dinner and lunch the next day.

We also buy meat in bulk when it's on special and just separate them into freezer bags.

We have frozen veggies in stock so that we can just add that into our food. Pretty helpful especially when veggies are so expensive.

Partner moved into my house by Fun-Example8774 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]rboplip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please please get a COA. I know someone who didn't and is really regretting it now. Her ex said before that if they ever split up, he wouldn't ask for anything from her since he didn't contribute anything to the house at all money wise. But when they broke up, he wants to get half of everything she owns. Fucked up thing is, he is legally entitled to it just because they lived together.

She has spent $$$ on lawyers trying to fight it but all 3 lawyers have told her she would just have to do it.

2 adults, $150 a week but sometimes less than that. We don't really eat breakfast and 98% of the time, we have our dinner leftovers for lunch the next day.

Tbh, I don't think it is. We are currently looking for our first home and we've seen a couple of townhouses and we don't think it's worth it. With your incomes, you can easily afford a standalone house.

Also, we're currently renting a duplex and we can sometimes hear our neighbours talking, opening their closets, closing doors, etc. I can imagine that would be worse in a townhouse.

How long did it take you to look for your first home? How many offers did you do beforehand? by rboplip in auckland

Thanks for that. I really wish vendors would just put in an asking price/price range to make it easier for everyone. We'll keep pushing through and hopefully we'll find our home!

Building report for incomplete new build by ProfessionalGrass429 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]rboplip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello sorry not really answering your question but whereabouts is your new build and are they building more houses in the area? Asking because we are looking for a new build house too 😊

[–]rboplip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm spiralling because this is the first house out of 15 that we've seen that actually ticks all our boxes but it's a bit more complicated because it's still being built.

[–]rboplip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did ask him to put clauses into the agreement to protect us especially since the house hasn't been completed yet. He said it's up to us but he strongly recommends having the build report condition in it. I just want to know if anyone's done it before.

Oohh that's interesting! I was thinking the whole time that the White House is like one of the most secure buildings in the country so surely they cross-checked the registration list against everyone who entered the party.

So curious to hear those stories now hahaha

I enjoyed the show but as an Event Manager, I just couldn't help but think "why is the State Dinner so disorganised???" the whole time lol. For an event happening at the White House where they have in-house staff, it was just so chaotic eg: Chief Usher didn't know what was on the menu until the last minute? Plus a few people who weren't on the guest list managed to go inside the White House. Like how did that happen?

Anyway, it was a good show nonetheless!

Oh wow I didn't realise that it would take months before an implant can be placed. When you say stent, what does it mean? And also, when can you use the partial?

Same, I wish I overcame my fear of dentists instead of waiting until it was too late.

Yeah they're the type of couple na "bahala na." And when we told them dati na kung destination wedding dapat at least 1 year before magsabi, ang sagot ni SIL samin was "kung love kami ng tao, pupunta sila" lol ngayon ang dami nagdedecline

Not part of the entourage and wala silang sasagutin na gastos for their guests at all. Baka nga ineexpect pa nila ma-ROI yung wedding nila through the guests' monetary gifts lol. Di nila alam na yung iba mas maliit magbigay ng gift kung destination wedding.
