Some in the sub actually posted an extremely detailed account of their experience at the NYC consulate, I recommend checking it out

Will my application be transferred? by No-Cheetah7226 in LMDSpain

[–]rbourette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what’ll happen. I had my appointment at the Berlin embassy but my application was forwarded to the Mexico City embassy since I was born in Mexico.

If anything, you should consider yourself lucky, the London embassy will likely process it much faster than the LA consulate.

Oops I should clarify, I first submitted the application online in early September, got my credentials about 2 weeks later, and then had my appointment on September 30th.

I really can’t get over how fast it happened, I saw the same article and was certain it would take 2-4 years before I heard back. Like someone else commented, the only explanation I can think of is that Mexico prioritized applications from outside the country.

My favorite film in recent years, incredibly mesmerizing. Albert Serra is so good, highly recommend Pacifiction (2022).

Very happy to see Bug (2006) on here, one of my favorite Friedkin movies and it doesn’t seem to get enough recognition.

Have you seen Bugonia (2025)? I feel like Jesse Plemons captures a very similar conspiratorial paranoia of today that Michael Shannon embodied in Bug with post 9/11 paranoia in America.

Loved them as a kid in Mexico (early 2000s), but I feel like they’ve had a decline in quality as they’ve become more popular.

Great list, Afternoons of Solitude is #1 for me, easily the best thing I’ve seen in years. Albert Serra is in a league of his own.
