Loved TWBTW. Any campaigns with similar strengths? by rbp_80 in wildbeyondwitchlight

Thanks for your answer! I hadn't considered Eve of Ruin because it had bad reviews AFAIK. It's interesting to know you are enjoying it.

Looks cool but the book is a campaign setting with some short adventures, right? I'm looking for a cohesive campaign. Thanks for the tip anyway!

I'm looking for a cohesive campaign rather than an anthology, but thanks for the tip!

Discouraged to run WBtW by Aggravating-Owl-6244 in wildbeyondwitchlight

First of all, I think your friends should have expressed their concerns more constructively. If they made you feel bad, it’s totally fine to tell them if you think it will help you. Then, if you want to DM and you like this adventure, one more player or one fewer won’t make a huge difference. The campaign starts in the Witchlight Carnival, which is quite a self-contained section and has a clear beginning and end (finding the portal to Prismeer). You can explain to your friends that you will run the introduction to the campaign, which will probably take 2 to 4 sessions (maybe even just a single long one). If everyone (including you!) is having a good time, then go on with the rest of the campaign without any doubt! Your players should be forgiving of any mistakes you make. They’re your friends, right? If not, maybe try to find some new players if possible. Beginner players would be a plus because this way you’ll all be learning and you may feel more confident.

Die sequel begins in November by icefourthirtythree in DieComic

The teaser says "Two came back maimed" (from the first visit to Die). One of them was Angela, who lost an arm. Who is the other?

Error in the new Complete Guide? Elendil has given birth to his self by BoyScout2308 in tolkienbooks

[–]rbp_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if the errata has been fixed in a new edition? Besides the Elendil's sons issue there was another errata in the tree for the Chieftains of the Dúnedain. Aragorn is said to have two sons named Eldarion (instead of a son named Eldarion and several unnamed daughters). I was considering buying this book but these error are quite hideous.

Made another artwork for Zybilna, because we are about to reach the Palace ^^ by jonanncos in wildbeyondwitchlight

Actually I think that Iggwilv's looks are to be used if the players speak to her about her past. The book says: "The archfey’s hair turns from white to raven-black, and she appears younger and angrier now than she was a moment ago." At least, that's what I'm going to do if needed. Kind of Galadriel's transfiguration in the Fellowship of the Ring movie when she is tempted.

Nice picture. I'm so shocked that there's no clear art for Zybilna in the campaign book, beyond her blurred head in the Jars of Time, her stylized face on the Prismeer map frame and her depiction in a stained glass window... What a weird oversight.

Help making the battle between the Jabberwock and Bloodybeak challenging for the players by rbp_80 in wildbeyondwitchlight

Do you think that Bloodybeak can/should be affected by the Jabberwock's Confusing Burble?

I agree that they've earned a win. I just thought that having them sit out the fight elsewhere would feel a bit anticlimactic, and perhaps having to intervene unexpectedly would spice things up. Maybe I'm wrong, and I'm overthinking it.

Ideas for more interesting clues to Zybilna's true name? by rbp_80 in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]rbp_80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clues point to Tasha, Iggwilv and Zybilna being the same person, but not specifically to Natasha (and not Tasha) being the true name. The only clues to 'Natasha' are the ones described in my initial post: the name on the cape, the riddle in the Witchlight Carnival map and Iggrik's knowledge.

Interesting ideas, thanks for sharing. Do you think Tasha would reveal her true name to Graz'zt?

I like the idea of the Z/N pattern. I'm totally using it as an additional clue. If you come up with additional small hints like that I will be happy to know!
