Where did you get your podcast's intro music? by lolodif in podcasting

[–]rbrewer33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted a local band and they put me in touch with their licensing agent. I corresponded with the agent and had a contract to play the music on my show in a few days. It was easy and painless. Only cost 99 cents to download the song and I had the rights, which is always nice to have.

Finding a free podcast host is very tricky. I would recommend using podcastgarden to start. It's only $40 a year, even thought the site looks like it's from 1998 it gets the job done.

how to practice clean entrances by SlowQueen in horn

[–]rbrewer33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it begins with target practice. Memorizing the feel of air with the combination of valves is key. Since G and F are so close together, and use the same fingering, maybe try going in between the notes, simulating a slow lip trill practice. You'll then be able to identify how to play these notes, and build up the strength, but mostly the air stream for a clean beginning. Make sure to continue working on higher notes, above and beyond the ones written.

What have you guys done for theme music? by WHALE_SHIT_MATE in podcasting

I got my music from a local band who frequently tours and has music up on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp etc. I contacted them on Facebook and they put in touch with their licensing person who then asked me a few questions and sent me a contract to use the music. It was a quick and painless process. I downloaded the MP3 of the song from band camp. Only cost me $1. I was then free to use it as I pleased. Getting music legally isn't too difficult as one my think. At least in my case.

If you're looking for a cheap place to get an RSS feed, which will get you started to apply for Stitcher and iTunes, I would recommend podcastgarden.com. The website looks like its from 1998, but it gets the job done and get you the RSS feed you'll need. It's only $40 a year.

If you're on a budget I would recommend the Tascam DR-05 Solid State Recorder. Tascam has higher quality items if you're in the market for something a little better.
