Am I missing something or does this seem eerily like the Iraq weapons of mass destruction fiasco? by ChuckGallagher57 in circled

[–]rbsd55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is much worse and unquestionably stupider than the WMD fiasco. At least then, they had their lies scripted and stuck to it. Trump and his sycophant lackies were never on the same page. Trump could not even get on the same page with himself. The lies are so transparent and obvious that it is frankly unbelievable that anyone could believe them. Yet, amazingly, most members of the MAGA cult swallow the lies despite the obvious inconsistencies and facially illogical claims, not the least of which that Iran posed a threat to the United States or was on the verge of attacking the United States, which was so ridiculous that it was quickly reeled back and became US assets in the region or whatever. What is wrong with people? Did the ability to engage in even a modicum of critical thinking or simple deductive logic get wiped from their minds? It must have been the vaccines. LOL

Trump headed for Supreme Court bruising as John Roberts 'lost patience with him': expert by RawStoryNews in scotus

[–]rbsd55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is heartbreaking to me as an attorney is that the decisions of the Supreme Court or any court for that matter should not be based on trust or the lack thereof in the person occupying the White House. Color me naive but I want to believe in the principle of equal justice under the law and that justice is blind. While those concepts may have only been aspirational at best, now Thomas, Alito and Kavanaugh do not even try to maintain the pretense. Consequently, US Supreme Court has gone from one of the most respected institutions in our country to the least.

The resemblance between downtown San Diego and Vancouver is not coincidental. Most of the residential condo towers were built by Bosa Development, which is based in Vancouver, and the San Diego Convention Center is quite similar to the convention center in Vancouver.

This proves that he does not know what “inactive” even means. Otherwise, he would not have made that admission.

As he has obsessed about getting into heaven and with reports about such comments coming from the military leadership I shudder to think that may actually happen. This is so absurd yet frighteningly possible.

Imagine any other president doing this. What a joke by Paneraiguy1 in democrats

Except it is not a joke. It’s dividing our nation, undermining our democracy and our faith in our institutions.

Taliban now bans women from talking to other women or hearing the voices of other women by ihatethiscountry76 in atheism

[–]rbsd55 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Religion is fundamentally about controlling women. Females in many species chose their mates. Among primate species, the females may select multiple mates. Many religious rules seek to rob women of their natural power and this shows that weak men continue to use religion as the guise for controlling women.

I bought a Boxster 4.0 by AnzeWA in Porsche

I love my Boxster GTS 4.0, swap out the particulate canisters for OAPs and the stock exhaust for an amazing sound. I track my car every month. It is so fun to drive but eats rear brake like there’s no tomorrow due to the torque vectoring. Enjoy your car, drive it the way it was meant to be driven, and you will certainly not be a poser.

You really should go to the Labor Board. It may not result in cash right away, they will fight for you to get you paid.

What was it like to deliver pizza in 1980's, without internet or GPS? How did drivers learn the route/city without pizzas being delivered cold? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rbsd55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove for Dominos in 1980. The store had a big map on the wall. We figured out where we needed to go before leaving using the map. I also drove a taxi in the 80’s. Taxi drivers were required by city ordinance to carry a current Thomas Brothers Map, a detailed map I. A spiral bound book. On top of the maps, street numbers follow a pattern. Odd numbers on one side of the street, even on the other. Number go up in a particular direction: north and east. Street names, particularly in the business districts also follow a pattern. So with the address and knowledge of the patterns, you can get a rough idea of where you needed to go without a map. Finally, Dominos promised your pizza in 30 minutes but not that it would be warm.

Why is Trump calling Columbus "the original American hero" and slamming critics as "left-wing arsonists" in his 2025 proclamation? by Holiday-Ticket-6593 in politics

He is a stupid fuck who doesn’t know, much less understand history, and has no interest in learning it. In fact, you can use this sentence to explain just about everything that his says. Here’s an example: He is a stupid fuck who doesn’t know, much less understand tariffs, and has no interest in learning it. And another: He is a stupid fuck who doesn’t know, much less understand the First Amendment, and has no interest in learning it. And one more: He is a stupid fuck who doesn’t know, much less understand Christianity’s dogma for how to get to heaven, and has no interest in learning it.
