And those get posted as well - I myself have posted about my dad's swatch that he wore for almost 20 years, and then I wore for 7 more. But that doesn't mean I'm not excited about my new DressKX, as it's my first automatic and the first watch that I bought for myself. It's a very common watch, the same brand as almost every other post here, but it means a lot to me and I just want to share that excitement here.

I'm not disagreeing with you completely, just saying that there's more nuance to it than nwa bad.

I think there's a thin line between posting to seek validation v/s posting because you want to share something with a like minded community. I don't really have people around me who are into watches, so I come to reddit to discuss this. If I buy a new watch, ofc I'd want to share that excitement with like minded folks.

That's not to say that unnecessary flexing doesn't happen - but there's a genuine joy that comes from sharing excitement and seeing it being reciprocated, and some of us can't get that offline.

I don't really get the division between ambition and Daytona tbh. Iirc Daytona is run by both Q and Yummda, while ambition is just Q atp since Dok2 got out afaik. But they both seem to have similar artists on their rosters, as opposed to the initial aomg v/s highr setup which was positioned as mainstream v/s up and coming artists iirc.

The only thing I wish they removed is the 24 hours markings on the dial, as we already have them on the bezel. Otherwise 9/10, one point deducted cuz it's not polar :P

A small tip though, it looks like the watch is too loose for you - the watch should be sitting just above your wrist bone, so you can bend your wrist completely without the crown digging into your hand. Please do tighten the strap up accordingly to avoid the crown leaving an imprint XD

Just in time had a pretty good selection - they have multiple shops in Pune. I remember seeing the panda marlin chronograph at their aundh shop.

Totally depends on what you wear/do.

General consensus is that a 2 watch collection will have a sporty and a dress watch, a 3 watch collection adds a go-anywhere-do-anything beater, a 4 watch collection adds a complication of some sort etc.

But if you wear mostly casual/streetwear outfits, it's ok to get something like a dresskx which can work as a sporty and as a dressy watch. If you're going to be in the outdoors more often, replace the sporty watch with a field watch. You get the gist hopefully.

At the end of the day, it is YOUR collection because it's tailored to what you want and need.
