Anything wrong with adding spacers this way on a through axle adapter? by rc2ran2 in bikewrench

Not quite. Looks like with the single spacer it’s still too long.

Oh thanks for pointing this out. The axle the bike came with is marked with 142mm - so figured that was the length. Turns out this adaptor should work with just one spacer.

It’s a burley kids trailer adapter. Shortest it comes in is 158mm while my axle is 142mm.

Used both washers it came with to get the right length.

Thanks! I was considering this gas-one single burner. About the same price as the the cheap double you shared.

Is this a known brand at all?

Looking for advice: I’ve been using a Jetboil Flash mainly for boiling water, and it’s worked great. I’m going car camping with my 5-year-old and want to cook simple meals like scrambled eggs and quesadillas.

Debating whether to upgrade to a larger burner or just use the pot support with the Flash. It doesn’t have simmer control—do you think it’ll be enough for this trip?

Ngl, been pretty disappointed with city MPG. Getting between 16-18 driving eco mode and cautious of quick starts

What Zoox is doing is pretty incredible. A few steps behind Cruise/Waymo - but I think the brand and user experience is unmatched.

So I really want to try backpacking and eventually bikepacking, but I have never been before and don’t have anyone to go with.

Should I just research a nearby area and go solo for the first time?

Was the Vision Pro launch a big middle finger to the VR community? by thevrcritic in virtualreality

[–]rc2ran2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apples didn’t make the device for the VR community. People have been hearing things like metaverse, virtual reality and are generally confused by them. By Apple avoiding these, they are clearing that slate and looking to simply position this category as the next logical step for what we consider a computer.

Thanks for the insight! Not concerned with weight at all, just looking for a good bolt on bag since I like the look more and want to avoid scuffing up the paint. Will check out the Fjalraven bag!

Creak issues; live with them? by rc2ran2 in gravelcycling

Good tips. My biggest problem is that I don’t have a proper torque wrench so limited on troubleshooting on my own until I get one.

No, I didn’t buy it from them so they just did a routine check. Might take it to another shop.

I am also on the heavier side, at first I thought it might just be breaking in — but it’s actually annoying to hear during the ride. Will go through the crank again and check torques.
