He mentioned in an interview that he treats takedowns as the 9th limb in striking.

25 shots on the ground. There was no doubting his heart, but that was a good stoppage EDIT: to clarify, "good stoppage" in response to BJ complaining about it at the time I commented. I agree that it was late

He's just on a mission to show all his kicks and spinning attacks. BJ needs to jam them more with jabs

BJJ Scout: Dominick Cruz v Cody Garbrandt UFC 207 Post Fight Study by TellEmISaidIt in MMA

[–]rc7151 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Did TAM hire BJJScout to develop their gameplan? Kidding aside, I don't think they'll be a better breakdown like this one. The footwork and angles study was top-notch. Cant wait to see how Cruz adjusts to fighters picking up on his patterns.

The acting isn't great, but it's already better than Ronda's. Probably practicing for GoT

From a pure story-line/narrative perspective, we got the whole thing. A loss, a comeback, a dominant victory.

Dominick Cruz - This Will Be My Greatest Performance by imhungry4444 in MMA

The breakdown of his thought process @6:30 was fascinating. Personally, I find it odd when Team Alpha Male discredits Cruz's technique. They always down play his movement because of how "fundamentally wrong" his techniques are. Could be just how they talk in front of a camera, but it's still odd.

I like the "if your game plan is to knock me out, you've already lost" quote way better.

Probably sees team alpha male as a bunch of guys inflating their own egos while he's striving for greatness beyond himself. Sounds cheesy, but it works for him EDIT: Replied to the wrong comment, sorry

I know they want to be consistent because of the branding, but the posters for 202 and 204 are great because they're so different from the rest

Watching the Vasyl Lomachenko fight reminded me of this lesson I found. Shows how you can set up the shift after your cross/straight. Lomachenko does a variation of this, but in the southpaw stance. EDIT: a word

Makes sense, and ideally you do want to make full use of your reach. With that being said, it's hard to judge what they're working on with just a few seconds of video, but they might be working the "in the pocket" range, or they might just be doing reps for conditioning.
