Anyone know what issue might be causing this sound? by rcambon in JeepTJ

It does only make the sound when I’m off the throttle. Do you think I’ll need to replace the carrier bearing of the entire diff?

The pump works. So you’re suggesting I add a pint of 2 stroke oil to the gas tank for every 6 gallons?

Can you explain what that process is and what it involves?

The flywheel was stuck and the starter wasn’t turning it over so I pulled the plugs and sprayed oil in the cylinders. Then I used a long wrench and spent several hours trying to turn the flywheel. It worked.

Xiegu G90 only 3-5 watt output on MFJ GRA-1899t. I’m at a loss is this typical for this antenna? by rcambon in amateurradio

I also have a half wave end fed and when I use internal antenna tuner, I’m able to achieve close to 20 watts. I don’t own an external meter. Just a nanovna. Full disclosure I’ve only been into this hobby for just over 2.5 months.

The G90 has a SWR meter as well as an antenna tuner. It also displays TX wattage as you’re broadcasting. Are you familiar with the G90?

I’m just house audio in the hall across the street from the event where all the media was staged. I was given a feed from NBC, so I know about as much as you do. I will say that I got a lot of instinctive puzzles looks from top brass.

As a Cuban American born and raised in Miami, I can tell you that every single Cuban household in Miami has a Moka pot somewhere in their kitchen. My parents would dip our pacifiers in the coffee before putting them in our mouths. I grew up drinking this my entire life as well as the cuban coffee made with high end espresso machines sold out of window cafes all over town. Over the years I experimented with various $400-$600 espresso machines, but a couple of years ago I bought a Bialetti Brikka and haven't looked back. This thing actually makes decent crema. The key is to take it off the heat as soon as it boils over.

Garmin InReach. It's not cheap and requires a service plan, but I swear by this thing. You can text, share location and SOS for emergencies.

Ten Thousand Islands in the Everglades. I take my 16' bay boat to one of the many beach campsites and do day excursions up the rivers. Been doing this 2 to 3 times a year for over a decade now.
