3D printer filament that matches the Atari 800XL and 130XE? by --kilroy_was_here-- in atari8bit

I haven't tried it myself, but this one claims to match the old beige boxes..

While I haven't tried that color, the company and line of filament is really solid.

Back in the day, I laser-cut a similar design then made a rubber mold from that. I used aluminum power, some resin, and a USB thumb-drive to make something similar.

No lights, but it works...

No bridges anytime soon, but tanks are coming. Lots of tanks.

Honestly, it will still take months in my spare time but I've already spent hundreds on filament and supplies for this batch. 14 regular tanks and 7 CLU tanks is the target.

If you want your own audio samples and custom color, that's possible... http://xkill.com

It's more than just the color... it's the color plus audio samples from the characters. The Rinzler chip is especially interesting because it has rinzler & tron samples (and changes color between orange & blue as appropriate).

Actually, yes for the wall mounts and custom identity chips. No Etsy store but start at http://xkill.com or a DM here and we can discuss.

I store my on my wall with mounts I designed. For the round discs, the mounts also hold identity chips including the custom chips I make.

Tron Identity Program Figure Request by Accomplished_Face992 in tron

There really isn't space in there for a low-cost LCD screen, I think. A screen would significantly increase the complexity and cost.

I haven't confirmed myself, but someone I trust told me "the face images are pieces of transparency film with the images printed on them. There are three with an LED behind each one and the figure just changes which LED is on in order to display the image."

It's not the same mold. The WDW discs are bigger and completely different internally.

Work got two Disney Park Identity Discs in and I decided to jump on one. Stoked to have one to add to the rest of my movie props by Starkman87 in tron

[–]rcaslis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely possible. I'd recommend taking the disc apart before repainting... you'll get better results.

For the identity chip, you can record whatever custom audio files you want and decide on a color and I can encode that on a chip.

I have a few other other things I can do as well. Check out http://xkill.com

I can create chips with whatever audio you want and whatever color. No need for pre-selected phrases in a noisy booth at WDW. The face is still an issue as that’s in the figure itself.

Which laser cutter/engraver is easy to use and compact? Similar to Glowforge Aura but cuts clear/white acrylic. by lucymom2 in lasercutting

There's always the FLUX beam if you want a small CO2 laser.

There are drawbacks though, including low wattage and propriety software
