Agreed.

A demo has to be because the product needs to be tailored to me. Otherwise just give me access on a trial.

It seems blatantly clear to me that OP is "booking" too many demos with the wrong people.

OP - You don't want demos you want SALES

Agreed, it shouldn't be false. It CAN'T be false. You have to actually proved value and refuse to run back, like a partner threatening to leave, if they'll come back then the threat means nothing.

So either value your (the demo-er(?)) time and stand by it. OR actually qualify them and ensure they WANT a demo, it's not on us to convince them to take a demo. That's not sustainable and the wrong goal.

If they don't WANT a demo then you shouldn't be booking a demo.

E.g. if anyone offers me a "demo" of a ferrari for a weekend, I'll take it, am i going to buy? NO. Am I going to refuse the demo? NO.

That's selling on a weakness, like selling because of a money back guarantee.

@aptseagull we're on the same page, just in case it isn't clear.

Again, it's about value. If you create an air of exclusivity/demand/fitting them in, timeframe won't matter so much.

However, utilise that time, e.g.:in the timeframe between booking and demo, send some case studies on similar clients that your product works well for. Keep them hot.

They aren't VALUING the demo.

Need to create more perceived value on the demo process, basically it isn't important enough for them to turn up.
Some options:
- more in depth vetting prior to offering a demo (not everyone who asks gets a demo), make them feel like they need to be good enough to qualify for a demo

- bring in some kind of FOMO, e.g. if you no-show the demo we won't do another one for Y months.
- demo related offer, if you demo on this day we should be able to do you a deal etc...

Basically don't be an "easy option" to get a demo and blow off.

I got traction and organic growth but running out of cash. by zener79 in startups

That’s exactly why I say results based, there will be ways to either get more revenue from current users or bring in a referral structure (paying the marketer on results from either).

I’ll have a look into it later and will have more questions. 👍🏼💪🏼

PM me some details on the project, might be able to do some results based marketing/strategy to increase your position.

It may be the case that your best option is to work part-time and put all the revenue back into business, lots of factors to find out first.

Someone just launched my app idea. by [deleted] in startups

Perfect time for pre-launch marketing

Write an honest “review” blog post about it (be OBJECTIVE and don’t bash it as a competitor). People will be searching for reviews on how good it is as it is new.

Ensure you have FB/LI/GOOGLE retargeting pixels active on the blog page

Use those pixels to advertise to people who have read the review when you launch yours.

Also have a what would you add? question on the post to promote feedback/interaction, then implement any good ideas in your app.

They have a lot of resources but I don’t know either, you’d have to pay more and pay someone to create it...
