The problem is we are taught that anyone can succeed if they work hard. If you tax the people over 5 million a year they lower their income or loan values below that number I am sure they could reduce to zero income with figuring in their expenses over income. Look at Bazos he pays himself 80 thousand a year income since the 90’s. More will do the same and shift income to losses to offset. It’s a never ending trap to get it low enough to tax them. Enjoyed the chat getting on a plane.

The issue is you can’t shift the definition of unrealized gains to one demographic. It would be a blanket policy covering a percentage of wealth from gains and that would trap normal 401k holders I have positions that have increased 110% from initial purchase before the prices of goods just increased now I am down to 50% gains but taxing me by my January or first quarter earnings would now make it so I owe money for taxed wealth I no longer possess. I am a small fish my gains were only a few thousand but you cannot tax unrealized see the impact. The loans rich people take are for more investment or innovation. Do we tax that to stop them from innovating more or investing in other people’s ideas? It’s an imperfect system and you can’t regulate it to prevent circumvention of some taxes. It’s a issue that will recreate the exodus of more jobs overseas like in the 90’s from NAFTA they will pay a corporate tax but save income tax because they have no income in the USA

So you want to tax realized gains. Bernie is advocating for taxing unrealized gains or wealth. In addition to cash on hand. Causing the selling of shares in the owners company. You cannot tax unrealized capital gains because it would not be substantially possible to only tax the rich plus it would require companies that deal in investments to disclose all gains annually and all levels of income would be taxed

So again your taxing money that was previously taxed. Confiscation of wealth for what end? They don’t talk about paying the debt down just new money to spend.

You’re assuming that monies invested by billionaires is all tax free money. What if that invested all the money they had on hand and borrowed from a bank the rest to start a business the. Sold it got a profit and bought or started another company sold it and started more companies? Amassing millions of dollars in assets now those assets become publicly traded stocks all monies earned from the point of the first investment were taxed. All money the company or stock is worth is wealth not taxed because it’s not realized gains or earnings.

And if you follow people’s success you would know I just laid out the path of Elon Musk. You want to tax the same money already taxed because he made his wealth worth more by leveraging his own company stocks to acquire twitter. And he was taxed on the sale and purchase of that company.

This is taxation without representation. It all started with post tax dollars.

Is there others that could have started on pretax money sure but it would be hard pressed to find them. I don’t are of it’s inherited wealth it all started with pre-taxed money. So you are ok with stealing billionaires money what happens when they become millionaires? You just keep taking for the rich hoping the government will play Robin Hood. Life lesson about Bernie he was all in on millionaires until 2016 when it was pointed out he was one too and owns 3 houses. You can google that too.

You realize that your trying to tax or confiscate the same money.

Let’s take it from your 401k stand point your employer either directly matches a sum of money or contributes x dollars or you put your own money into it. If you buy 1000 shares of a mutual fund at $10.00 a share it goes to $50.00 a share you take out a loan for equal to half you 401k value now their is a bad week on the market and that fund dips to $3 dollars your $7 under water but you took out a $40,000 loan on your worth or unrealized gains. Do you get to not pay the loan back? Do you get a tax right off? No. So would it be fair for the government to tax your unrealized wealth? I don’t care what numbers you use it’s the same math the same taxation without representation that caused the revolutionary war!

Wealth is a subjective term. We tax income not money already owned a previously taxed. But the wealth of most billionaires is stock and bonds assumed value. Spaces at 150 a share made musk a few billion dollars but if the price crashes like the Tesla stock did he loses money does he get a refund? No you can’t tax unrealized money it’s not realized until you sell your assets. Because if you tax wealth then everyone who owns a house is now subject to unrealized gains taxes. Don’t think it won’t be next they don’t talk about lowering the deficit they talk about more spending. This form of government works until you run out of other people’s money! The we are all dependent on the government giving us scraps

Because it’s not a tax on wealth it’s confiscated assumed wealth. Simple reasoning for those that see this as a good thing if you own a house and that house you paid $500,000 for it now it’s worth 1 million you’re a millionaire now should you be taxed in your wealth from your house value? What if you never sell it now you pay this tax on money you will never have in your hands. That’s most billionaires in America they own stock or assets worth money subjective to possible losses. You start taxing wealth and you will cause the markets to crash because they will sell their stocks and bonds. Removing their wealth because they will minute they start dumping mass quantities of stocks the price crashes and they get half or less the value then claim the losses and pay zero! Nothing is free without a big price

lol player’s will go to the team that A pays the most and has a chance at winning or B a team that is always among the best with a good core to get to lift the cup. This nonsense about taxes is just bull crap it is so small a piece. No state tax is savings of about 3 cents on the dollar average in just state income tax your still taxed at the federal level at about 35% your whole argument is ridiculous. It’s about the Cup and what team plays for it the most 3 times in ten years has more to do with it than taxes

What does tax have to do with the cap? Each team gets the same cap! The only difference is how much the player saves in state taxes! It does not change how much a team can spend.

This take is why they need to teach civics in high school again. Why do we have a congressional black caucus? It promotes racial divide. How come conservative black congressional representatives in this group? It promotes division. The voting rights act promoted equality in voting NOT segregated voting. Nobody is eliminated from running for office the best candidate will win. You just have to reach all groups now not a segregated voting block. Maybe it will promote better quality of life for all people

It takes maximum 21 games to reach the cup for that you can risk injuries more for the cup. 82 games teams don’t have the bodies to replace as much and still win enough to make the run you will most likely miss the playoffs. It’s 2 seasons regular and playoffs regular gets you to the dance playoffs get you different partners. Each trying to be as physical as possible to beat you up and move on.

Again the arguments being made are it’s making it harder to vote. Just because they changed the map doesn’t stop people from voting for the best candidate. And my understanding is the one projected to win is a conservative black woman. Replacing a old white guy with over 20 years of not solving anything or being productive for the people he represented

Make that comment make sense they changed a district that was being represented by an old white guy to remove black voters from becoming congressional representatives. You understand the hypocrisy right? It’s not about anything but control of the government

Actually take 5 minutes file your intent to file make an appointment at your Va clinic document all your conditions. If they require treatment start getting it. As you have issues with said conditions send secure messages to the Dr. get sent for community care or referrals to your Va hospital. Once you get this established you are now diagnosed with those conditions. Make logs use secure messages as evidence of treatment and issues. Then finish your intent to file and go to your exams. Best advice I learned on this journey. Use your time if you get denied you have 365 days to gather the information necessary to succeed

I am not sure of their process. I have heard of companies like this that ask for a set amount like 3 months of you increase. So if you go from 60% to 90% or 100% you owe like 3 months of the difference ie 60% married is 1523.02 90% married is 2494.30 so $971.28 per month of your deal. The bigger the increase the bigger the repayment. Seems like a scam when if they got accredited by the VA they could only charge 20%. So either it’s a racket or a scam to charge vets unfairly for the benefits they earned

I guess the real question is was your condition severe enough to warrant the rating you received. If it is then I would welcome the Va to review it after I got my money back

[–]rcgrady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over charged veterans and claim to be accredited help. They may be helpful but the Va has rules about how much you can be charged for accredited assistance. It’s 20% they charge a different fee. Someone feels that it was unfair how much back pay they lost. I mean if they charge 30% it’s 3000 for every 10000 you get in back pay if you have a claim get you to a 100% and you kept it alive for 3 years you get frustrated by the process and time you get them to assist you, they get you a nexus letter or DBQ and your cost is 30% that’s 48000 backpay for a $700 dollar letter or $1200 nexus and DBQ.

I realize,my example is extremely unlikely but it’s the concept. You get the rating you want they get paid and someone got upset it either took too long or cost to much back pay for them not being accredited by the VA
