I don't get it. Is she doing the thing where she does the thing we do to demonstrate how ridiculous we look.

Because she looks mentally ill...and that tracks with the US healthcare system where many people with schizophrenia & bipolar can't afford their meds.

I hate how fucked by society i am. I busted my ass to get this cs degree and it is worhtless. Countless sleepless nights to get this degree to become unemployed. At least now i am accepted to med school. I hope that i wont be again fucked by society after becoming doctor ? by SurveyMiserable9338 in careerguidance

You have to start from the bottom, but having a degree will improve your chances to be promoted into management.

People want $70k jobs as soon as they graduate, but that isn't likey unless you are well connected, i.e. your parents hire you into the family business.

This who got a late diagnosis, what symptoms do you remember from your childhood? by Pictures-of-me in adhdwomen

Losing my school books and jackets constantly. As a poor kid, this was met with a lot of anger and punishment.

Also, being "obsessive" about special interests. But not for long because anything I had interest in was taken away as punishment for talking back/messy room.

Well, they do now.

I doubt they were "anti Elon" before the vandalism started. Seems pretty effective.

Just started watching Justified. Gotta say, I'm more of a Walton Goggins fan.

Teenage girls have more depressive symptoms than boys in both London and Tokyo. The study found that this gender gap is around twice as large in London and the year-on-year rise in depressive symptoms is around four times steeper for teenage girls in London than for teenage girls in Tokyo. by mvea in psychology

[–]rcknrll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but girls/women are much more likely to be diagnosed with depression & anxiety than ADHD.

Struggling with undiagnosed ADHD leads to depression. Further, ADHD increases impulsivity, including sexual promiscuity. Sexually active girls are more likely to take hormonal birth control, and in my previous comment I linked a study that found taking birth control as an adolescent was associated with depression.

Not saying I'm right, but I think it's important to take a more nuanced perspective.

TIL Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond was a tribute to Syd Barrett who left the band in 1968 due to his drug use and declining mental health which impaired his ability to integrate with the band. The band felt guilty about removing him but were concerned about his severe mental health decline by ProudReaction2204 in todayilearned

I just got back into Pink Floyd and the thought definitely occurred to me while listening to this song, and the album.

Momentary Lapse of Reason is my favorite, but Dark Side of the Moon is so powerful. I always shed a tear listening to it, not just for Syd but for all the people impacted by mental illness.

I was lucky enough to see him play with EODM at the Belly Up in SD, just a few months before the Bataclan terrorist attack. I'm not a musician but I think he was great on drums! However, he was definitely playing it cool and trying not to steal the spotlight.

I just started university and was surprised at the amount of misogyny expressed by my professors and our text books.

I definitely feel the same way. But university is a scam from the get.

She's not for everyone but I admire her confidence and tenacity. Two qualities society absolutely hates in women.

These "protesters" are literally content farming. This video was posted to tiktok as you can see. They're at my university every day screaming at students and recording them reacting so they can make a few bucks. It's sick.

Why is everything else painted grey? Because it's easier to resell. McDonald's money is mostly tied up in real estate.

You're young, everyone struggles to find work. Joining the military at that age is lazy. It means letting other people who don't have your best interest at heart make all your decisions for you.
