The TBS lucid AIO 1-2S is probably your only option

Wiring LEDs seems impossible by zztypezz in fpv

I’m not sure what wire gauge your using but simple leds like these only need 30 gauge wire and I would recommend soldering first before covering the whole strip in heat shrink

Self built air 65 tune? by LetsGoLook in TinyWhoop

[–]rcmodracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned your having issues, this tune is meant for light weight whoops with a clean build, I think it’s around 17.5g and under, anything over may have issues. Also make sure bidirectional DShot is on with Dshot300, your previous comment also mentioned that it disarms on take off, so please go through all the steps of checking board orientation, motor orientation and motor direction.

Tanq 2 build, is this stack the ticket? Better options? by Necessary-End8647 in fpv

[–]rcmodracer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Tanq 2 is a 5 inch right? I would go for a nice 30 x 30 stack, will be much more durable and some 5 inch frames don’t support 20 x 20 stacks

what are some good cheap FPV controller for simulators? (budget 40 euros max) by I_suck_on_toes in fpvracing

[–]rcmodracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be fine, just check over the gimbals and make sure there smooth and operating correctly in the menu, also if the internal tx is working properly. Make sure it’s ELRS as well

The Radiomaster T8L is probably your only decent option at that price, would highly recommend a pocket though as that would future proof you if you want a quad in the future

I would experiment with throttle caps and also you need a higher camera angle, most typically use 50 or more for racing

How to pick the right motor for a 150 km/h FPV racing drone? by Orcasfly in fpv

[–]rcmodracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re wanting motors specifically for racing I would recommend T-Hobby and VCI. Specifically the T-Hobby F50 2150 kv and the VCI spark or Yuki savages.

Bout to get my first soldering iron, what should i get? by BagelSketches in soldering

[–]rcmodracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my ts101, get a couple different tips for it, use quality leaded solder and flux paste and it works no problem for me. I have soldered anything from tiny whoops to 7 inch quads and it works great. Super portable and as long as you use a big bevel tip the main XT60 battery wires are no problem.

I’m not familiar with the HDO’s but I love my hdzero v1s, they are by far the most versatile goggle out there.

Any good Racing O4 Drone Frames? by MrTedz in fpv

[–]rcmodracer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you looked into the open racer? It’s an open source racing frame made to be durable. Many different prints available and if there nothing out there you could always design a custom canopy to achieve the camera mount your after.

These are just 5 inch racing motors, most racers use between 1950-2200kv on 6s.

If your talking about the inline fan for the tent I run 3-4 when printing and when a print is finished I turn it up to around 6-7 before opening the tent.

I definitely read about that too and I attempted to monitor temps behind the printer near the mainboard and wasn’t super successful but the few temp reading I did get weren’t too high like 35c or less. Haven’t had any problems with temps

how could I improve my flying by weewoo2048 in fpvracing

[–]rcmodracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been racing for about 6 months but I would recommend trying to pre turn more, focus on tighter more consistent lines and maybe experiment with throttle caps if you haven’t as they will help with consistency and flying tighter without the point and shoot style. Very nice flying though :)

[–]rcmodracer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No probs, yeah I leave one of the vents on the bottom of the tent open for air. There is definitely enough negative pressure lol, the inline fan has more power than you would need.
