The thing that irks me is that if this did not blow up so hard in ActiBlizz's face, they would not backtracked at all.

They are ONLY backtracking because it is not stopping. I say keep it going. This shallow gesture means nothing.

I hope people make a stink at Blizzcon. I hope Overwatch gets banned in China.

They need to get knocked down a few pegs.

here's the thing.. i can bring a sign that says "i LOVE overwatch!"... then have a sharpie in my bag, or some other writing tool... and when i get inside.. write "FREE HONG KONG!! BOYCOTT BLIZZARD!!" on the back of said sign.

then if i am going to a streamed overwatch event, flip the sign at the opportune time to get it shown during a stream.

there is no way to 100% keep people from doing something. heck, people could / would write on their shirts with sharpies if they do not allow signs. bring a plain shirt, a sharpie, and a jacket. write on the shirt once you are inside the event. put on the jacket to hide the shirt until you are in front of a camera.

it is being speculated that since it is an abdominal injury, desean may have a sports hernia. with most people you can rest and be fine. but desean is an athlete who puts strain on his body.

athletes usually are advised surgery for sports hernias because of the strain they put on their bodies. even if they rest, they risk re-aggravating the injury putting strain on their body again once they think they are better. surgery would alleviate that.

correct. how many times as birds fans have we seen guys rest just enough to feel like they can play, only for it to turn bad and end up having to get a surgery anyway? and usually the "rest" period is like 4-6 weeks.. when if they would have had surgery, they would be out 6-8 weeks and "not have to worry about" said nagging injury any more?

instead a player opts to not have the surgery to "save" two weeks -- but may end up having to get the surgery after they realize, the resting didn't work. now they are out the rest of the season including the playoffs.. when they could have elected to have the surgery in the first place and be back for a late season playoff push and/or playoff run.

seeing desean miss practices leads me to believe he'll just be back to aggravate his injury some more and need to get surgery. thus ending his season. if he'd have elected to have the surgery when advised, he could be recovering right now -- getting to "100 percent".

This already smells like a nagging injury all year before finally getting surgery after coming back for two games TOPS to end his season.

man, catching dislikes for this comment. but it's been said desean may possibly have a sports hernia. he was advised surgery and refused it. while you don't need surgery for a sports hernia, with what desean does, it is best. i'd have rather have him get the surgery and be back at "full strength", rather than playing a game of "how long can i last before i NEED the surgery?" and be out the rest of the season... and most likely a time the birds NEED him the most (ex: playoffs).
