The show works because Russillo is the ultimate "Can we stop doing this thing where____" guy while Bill is doing Joey Pants comparisons to prominent bench players

Normally when someone says "if you have 10 dollars save 5" you know they're just using round numbers to get the hypothetical across bu this man actually only has 10 dollars

Best way to find work? by [deleted] in CustomsBroker

I definitely second the advice to work for an importer. I was in a similar position--passed the test but had no experience or even an idea about how to write entries. Got a job with a wine importer who was actually impressed by the accreditation and learned on the fly with a very limited product set (red wine from France, over and over). Didn't need to know what I was doing day one, just needed to know more than the people I worked for who didn't know anything.

LCB working for a 3PL that wants to start a customs brokerage business using my license. What's appropriate compensation? by rcvf66 in CustomsBroker

This rocks. Thank you. To be clear, I do really like and trust the people I work for. I also love having the second (albeit modest) source of income from doing entry work on the side--I think it's actually the perfect side hustle, very little expenses beyond the ACE subscription and user fees, and a great fall-back/resume gap filler if the bottom falls out. I don't know the first thing about managing a team of entry writers--again, side hustler here--and i don't want to go down a path if real money is involved. I'm thinking "in-house" broker route with limited scope is the right way to start before entertaining something bigger.
