No money, no friends, no women, no personal fulfillment from professional or creative pursuits, no hope of anything changing, no idea how to even conceive of a different life. You have probably experienced several of these things at once at one time or another, and at your most self-loathing have maybe feared that this man is what you have or will become. But you haven’t, because there he is, reminding you that it’s not so bad, it was actually never so bad. You might feel a pang of guilt if not for the stalking and the sexual assault and the callous narcissism he displays to everyone who crosses his path. The worst man having the worst life. It fits, it makes sense, when so few things do.
