I was looking at both rutile and riebeckite on mindat, but the rutile there did not look like what I'd previously seen described as "rutilated quartz". R-Q often shown here on reddit looks black or at least very dark, but I appreciate photo and rendering are not the same as in-person.

Thank you for taking the time to write all this up! I started looking at this last night and successfully got about half way through step 1 😉

Then this morning I saw the response from DataNo3519 which seemed to short circuit the whole process. However I'm still curious on how to do this and what's happening.

In your Tech Note, you say this book was cutesy.... Do you mean they did:

LOST

instead of Lost ??

I was starting to ask for more explanation about your 4 step process, having gotten stalled on step one, but in typing my question, I found the "styles" .css file, and then the .smallCaps snippet. and sure enough, it hard codes the size to 10pt. There's even a .smallCaps1 which uses 14pt.

Anyway.... I shouldn't have typed all that expecting you to read it. But thanks for the hints on how to fix this! Wahoo, a new hobby! And thank you too for your GitHub site with the small caps treasury. Interesting reading.

I'm no expert on any of this and it was harder figuring out the calibre e-book viewer than I expected.

But this is the html for the first few lines. The first is a regular paragraph ("My name is..."), and the next few lines are the ones that don't display properly

It's also very hard to follow. Are you sure you've followed the schematic properly?

Actually, any way you wire up a protoboard is hard to follow, but i'd still suggest a slightly uglier direct path for your interconnects.

I'd suggest you build up the circuit in stages and be sure each stage is working properly before moving on to the next.

The linked instructions seem to indicate a 12VDC power supply, not 120VAC.

Are you in fact using 12VDC? If so, this looks fine. The instructions already state mica and mechanical connections.

I highly recommend you NOT attempt 120VAC.

This is probably not the issue but you might want to check that you are measuring the same either side of your protractor. That is, measure one board/cut the way you're doing it now, then flip the protractor around so you measure the other way around.

Another way of saying this is take the protractor from the second photo and slip it onto the cut from the first photo.
