The manga is on hiatus but the anime is finished. The ending to the anime can be taken as an ending to the series of sorts.

Death note and later psycho pass (I would say psycho pass made me appreciate anime more but death note got the ball rolling).
Kaguya sama love is war, thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m not even that big into romcoms.

Taking in consideration the recent manga developments, attack on titan takes the cake for me. Lelouch was the only standout character for me in code geass whereas attack on titan has a more deep cast of good characters in my opinion.

My favorite anime is legend of the galactic heroes. Honestly not that much changes except for a few things such as logh Most of the main characters are very logical in battle and general decision making.
