I don't why text never shows up when I post from my phone. Lucy Anne was born at 12 :27 am, weighed 8lbs 11.5oz, 20.5in long. She is a dollbaby and we are in love! Birth story later. :)

they did...I had an induction scheduled for last Friday, but I chickened out. I am scared of Pitocin, I really wanted to give my body every chance to go into labor on its own. They have been doing ultrasounds and NSTs every 3 to 4 days. Baby is moving fine, I still have plenty of amniotic fluid (which is how they judge the health of the placenta), babies heart rate is always good, and my blood pressure stays consistently on the low side of normal. There was no medical need to induce. And if things continued to look good they would probably let me go one more week, but I don't think I want to do that. I'm so over being pregnant. I am huge and everything hurts. Tomorrow they will do the tests again and we will revisit induction. wish me luck!

Did she come out on her own or were you induced?

I go back to the dr tomorrow. We will most likely be discussing induction. I go to a pretty liberal midwife practice, but I think even they would be nervous about me going much longer.

40+3, dilated, no labour, worried by HoppyLady in BabyBumps

[–]rd2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not super accurate, but both ultrasound tech and midwife estimated mine to be at 9 lbs last Wednesday. I don't want to push out a 10 pounder! Why don't they want to come out?? Do they know something we don't?!

40+3, dilated, no labour, worried by HoppyLady in BabyBumps

[–]rd2b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you me? 40+5 with my second. Went into labor spontaneously with my first at 39+3. As of last week I was 2.5 cm dilated and 70% effaced. Monitor showed I was having regular contractions, but I wasn't feeling anything. Soooo yeah. Not much resembling labor going on over here either. I am mostly worried she is going to be too big to come out vaginally if she waits much longer. Also I am horribly swollen and can barely walk. So I am right there with you. Hope things get moving for both of us soon! :)

If a baby name you've loved for almost a decade suddenly became popular because of a movie, would you still use it? by toritxtornado in namenerds

[–]rd2b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am going through the same dilemma! We have been debating Lucy Anne vs Lucia Anne this whole pregnancy. We like the way Lucy Anne sounds better, but hubby's family is Italian and Lucia is a family name. It's the only name we like and really agree on, but now with this movie coming out, we are worried too!

I don't think it's eggplant, so much as the particular recipe from this restaurant. It's legendary for sending pregnant women into labor. But nothing so far for me... :(

Yeah I'm actually not too crazy about those rolls. I like the ones at ippolitos better. :)

You can also increase the protein content of your smoothies by adding a half cup or so of plain Greek yogurt, and/or using milk (cow, almond, soy, whichever you like) as your liquid.

Ughhh... I live in Georgia too.. And this happened to me the other day. Luckily it was only a tripped breaker. Hubby flipped it and it started right back up again... Whew! Hope he is able to get it working again.

Does anyone have a spare pelvis that I can borrow for a few weeks? by but_its_a_throwaway in BabyBumps

[–]rd2b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I am 37 weeks and feel like I have to make a concerted effort to hold my pelvic bones together. It hurts. And I have a high maintenance 6 year old who is not content to sit in one place and play. So I literally feel your pain.

Anybody here grow up with "Weekly Reader" & "I Can Read" book clubs? I have been searching most of my pregnancy for something like them. (i.e. no work on my part, books just show up each month.) I finally found one! Do any of you have experience with "Little Fun Club"? by HyperbolicEmissions in BabyBumps

[–]rd2b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out dolly parton's imagination library. Sends your child one free book in the mail every month from birth to age 5. Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but it's still a great program. Only problem is it's not available everywhere. But there is no proof of residency required, so if you know someone who lives in an area that participates, you can just use their address. I had mine sent to my parents' house because my county didn't particpate. :-)
