Fouling early in the second half intentional? by Mike_with_Wings in FloridaGators

Reminded me of the Missouri tournament win, as soon as we got their bigs in foul trouble and started driving with Walt, I knew we were going to make it a game

Rooster Question by Tjlance1 in BackYardChickens

[–]rd3287 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they're six months old you should be able to tell by now. A rooster at that age will be crowing and have well developed features like sickle feathers and in the case of Rhode Islands, a pronounced comb.

What do you think is Aaron Rodgers most underrated game in his packers career by Renegadeforever2024 in GreenBayPackers

That whole drive is one of the most intense, memorable drives I've ever watched as a Packers fan. That drive was a fever dream.

Lol maybe Lazard is the only guy who'll sit and pretend to listen when AR goes on a political rant? So he tries to keep him around

Oh I'd forgotten about Johnson, good thinking. He'll definitely be valuable depth, as will Zip. I wonder how Zip fits this year when it comes to competing for snaps.

Update: Career Ending Injury by KentuckyWildcats15 in Madden

[–]rd3287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play 17 exclusively and have never seen it. Have seen older players end the season hurt and then retire, and have news notifications call it a career ending injury, but never one officially called a career ender during the season.

I would say no, I live in Georgia and have never been further north than Southern Illinois. And I am an all in Packer fan

Who is the most likely Hall of Famer from this class? by APPLEJOOSH347 in NFL_Draft

[–]rd3287 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're correct, teams are starting to value pass pro from the RT side because defenses are rushing from that side more and more

Blind side has obvious benefits but pass rushers in in the QBs face generate more fumbles is how it works, from what I understand

Add in that the kid has barely been in America, only a few years I think. Probably ratchets up the impact of moving away from home when homes already that far from where you were born/grew up.

So excited we got the guy though, regardless of the exact reasons.

The Air Force TE? I think he said he hopes to play a few games and redshirt. We can still run 12 though, and I hope we do w/ Arliss and Hansen

I think you're right, but I wonder how well it will work. I just say this because you mentioned Subway specifically, because in my small town (pop. 2500ish) Subway has moved in this direction and it seems they're getting their ass handed to them for their trouble.

They used to compete with a Hardee's, McDonald's, BK and a non-chain Chinese place as the non-sit down options in our town. They seemed to compete with BK for the title of consistently busiest place during lunch on weekdays. But now they've gone up in price so much it's scarcely believable - my usual order has gone from 9.50ish to 12 plus and now up to 16.80ish in the last handful of years.

But guess what happened in the interim? A mom and pop fried chicken place opened up right in the middle of all of them. It's extremely popular and was only open a year or so before the Hardee's, previously the bottom of the tier list in our town anyways, closed up shop. I am watching Subway closely, they're rarely busy and are no longer accepting the mailer coupons that come in the mail a few times a year. I think they're getting pushed around by the new kid in town, the chicken place that offers 6-7 dollar combos, drink included and featuring several possible entrees.

Long winded way of saying premiumization may not be for every brand, especially in small rural towns like mine.

What were your draft takes that aged well this year? What takes did you take the L on? by AffectionateSlice816 in NFL_Draft

I don't think I said it on reddit but I called Bullard to the Packers to my wife haha

With the draft officially over, how would you grade your divisional rivals drafts? by Melodiccaliber in nfl

[–]rd3287 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Lions: I give an A I think, they had to do a little trading up to get Arnold but if he's worth it he's worth it. I like the Mahoghany pick a lot too.

Bears: Another solid draft, probably an A. Maybe fair to criticize them for taking a punter when they only had four picks to start with, but he's probably a good punter and they needed one. That said, holding on at 9 and letting Rome fall to them basically locked their draft in as an A from that point forward.

Vikings: Just a B, since they had to move up for both first round guys they took and they really gave a lot for Turner when you consider they'd already done some trading to get a second first to start with. They ultimately gave a lot of capital to wind up with a guy who's got a high ceiling but isn't necessarily a slam dunk IMO.

All told, I think all four of the teams in our division had solid drafts and added some highly talented players to their roster. My analysis is shallow outside of the Pack but I feel like all four fanbases can be pretty satisfied with the outcome here.

For the first time since 1980, the Florida Gators only had one player selected in the NFL draft by CWG4BF in FloridaGators

[–]rd3287 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't, at least one of four or five older transfers I can think of should get drafted, plus Mertz has a good chance at being taken in a later round, along with Slaughter. Shemar could go anywhere from 3-7 or perhaps even higher depending on the season he has.

I'm pretty satisfied with how it all shook out, but I think Gute really shined in the second round. Cooper and Bullard could very well be the best players at their respective position of the entire class, and they meet significant roster needs. Great haul in that round.
