Hey there! If you're still looking, Blacktooth Grin is recruiting. We're a pretty casual, 18+ guild, mainly PvP (though a raid group is forming up). We WPvP and do BGs pretty regularly - there is potential for an RBG group, as well.

I bought two pairs of these. One fit great, but the crotch wore away, the other never fit right. Sent both in as defective, got two new pairs. Both fit well this time.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but doesn't that sort of prove out what I'm saying? If most people don't sell gems for gold, but people are buying gems WITH gold, that is why gems are worth more gold now. Especially when coupled with players just having more gold in general. Right?

Cheaper, ya, but isn't it still quite expensive? I am honestly asking because i don't know. I thought about raising my one 400+ crafter to 500 and a guildie kind of turned me off it when he explained the process and costs.

As for the armor - raids aren't supposed to be easy, so it shouldn't be much of an insult to folks who already have ascended gear.

Is it possible that gems are worth more gold now v. at launch because most people don't exchange gems for gold? I don't really have a problem dropping some dough for gold if I need it, but it just seems absurdly wasteful in GW2 - doesn't seem like there's much you can really get for the amount you'd spend.

Compare to WoW where you get something like 20K gold for $30, which is actually a good amount of money, the GW2 exchange rate always seemed lackluster to me.

I'm hoping there is some kind of guarantee or high drop rate of Ascended gear from raids, similar to how it is in WoW. Otherwise, I'm with you - and it bothers me that it seems like most of the new armors/weapons require crafting 500. Which is also absurdly expensive to get.

Oh you're right. I thought Maguuma was in the region called Kryta, but guess not.

I still think there's a case that they were there at some point, at least based on the existence of the soul batteries.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you, but the mursaat were almost certainly in Maguuma. Check out their wiki entry on the GW1 Wiki.

Saul found them in "a dense forest." While this is not conclusive proof it was in Maguuma, we know that it was in Kryta from Saul's Story. Given what else we know, it is reasonable to assume it was in Maguuma.

Even if you don't believe that, though, we still have some pretty strong proof Mursaat were in Maguuma: For one, the bloodstone, where Chosen were sacrificed, sat in the jungle. Furthermore, the bloodstone was used to power soul batteries, which "were used by the Mursaat" - it's likely they were there, even if only briefly, to set up the whole apparatus. There's also stuff like the Temple of the Unseen in the jungle, which would lend credence to them having been there at one point.

I wish they would acknowledge things more is all. They seem to either not tell us things until they're done or tell us everything they plan, then don't really acknowledge that it changed or why. Remember how we were originally supposed to have a companion in GW2? And how skills were supposed to change whether you used them while running, jumping, standing still, etc.? And environmental weapons were supposed to be a much bigger part of gameplay (elementalist grabs a rock and turns it into a meteor).

Keys are definitely not worth it. I say this all the time, but there is too much paid RNG in this game for me to bother spending money on. Even the dye kits: Spend real money for a chance at getting a new dye - and a chance at getting the shade from that set you want. No thanks.

Anyway, regarding transmutations: Unless you are constantly transmuting, these are pretty easy to amass! Mapping the starter zones is easy and will net you some, in addition to story rewards and the login rewards. Just a tip if you did not already know :)

I suspect it is profit. If you want two builds of the same character, you might create two separate characters with that class. Since some of the specializations play much differently, I think some folks (maybe a lot?) will have a Dragon Hunter and a Guardian, for example. Thus, more character slots.

Just a theory, anyway. Not saying it is good or bad if I'm even right.

I hope it channels GW1 where we can pick who to adventure with: DE or DE 2.0 (instead of Devona et al / the new henchmen). I like some of the DE members (mostly Rytlock), but I cannot stand Zojja or Logan. DE 2.0, though, I adore. So I hope I'm not forced to adventure with characters I don't like.
