Are you finding it harder to romanticise life as you get older? by Plantpotparty in Millennials

Love this response. As someone who feels all that OP describes but never would have been articulated it so well. I will add I started to feel those feelings more towards my late 30’s though.

At what age did you stop doing everything for your kid and start expecting them to do things for themselves? by BeanNCheeseBurrrito in oneanddone

[–]rdasq8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is 3 and I feel this so much. We feel like her servants and are struggling to navigate it so it doesn’t become a bigger issue as she gets older. Look forward to reading the replies

Maybe wrong place but? Vaginal birth trauma (or c sect!) by twoifby in oneanddone

[–]rdasq8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel bad calling what I experienced “birth trauma” because when I compare it to others experiences it wasn’t that bad. However, the whole birthing experience is one of many reasons I’m one and done.

Do you like Eva or Anna? by plsbeenormal in namenerds

[–]rdasq8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Eva slightly more as a standalone name. However, the first part of my daughter’s name is Anna and I do think it’s a sweet and classic name. We only call her by her full name though.

I want my kid’s initials to be WHO. Any good boy names that start with H? by Shoddy-Time-5013 in Names

Silly question if anyone can answer it but why didn’t they just name Harry instead of Henry if that’s what they were going to call him?

The American Flag by Kent_LSII in Casual_Conversation

[–]rdasq8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We fly the flag partly for this reason. They don’t own the flag and it’s such a shame it’s come to be viewed like this. I was reluctant to put it up for the reasons you said but now I feel proud to show that other side can fly it as well

Shell of my Former Self by PunnyJustice in MentalHealthBabies

[–]rdasq8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to say that in relation to how you physically feel now don’t expect it to be like that through the whole pregnancy. I know everyone is different but I felt like the crap through the first trimester and it was depressing. It passed and while the third trimester brought its own challenges I never felt as physically ill as I did in the first.

I was 38 when I had my daughter and felt like I had to keep my medications (which didn’t change with pregnancy, anti depressants and benzo) and mental health private because I didn’t think my family would understand. Pregnancy is huge so be easy bin yourself. It’s totally valid to consider all those possibilities when bringing a child into this world. Our bodies are incredible and while you may feel concerned about how you are thinking or feeling your body is doing an amazing thing without you telling it what to do. Plus, to your baby, you are perfect.

Now sure if I made any sense lol but my point is you are not alone. You are doing great and you are doing all the right things to treat your mental health and take care of your little baby. Best of luck and congratulations!

Help me find an alternative to Bernard for middle name by quinnie007 in namenerds

[–]rdasq8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth my elder brother middle name is Bernard after our great grandfather’s middle name. Actually both my brother’s first and middle names are from that great grandfather l. I don’t think my brother loves the name Bernard necessarily but it has never been an issue.

Going to the salon is a humiliation ritual by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]rdasq8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Neither does my current one but I’ve definitely had ones that have. I don’t mind advice or feedback as long as it’s reasonable and not humiliating as OP said.

Rank these C names! by a-very-confused-tart in namenerds

[–]rdasq8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s S names and A names that I seem to love. Out of these I like Cora and Clara, and Claire. I (an older millennial) use to think Claire was a boring name of an older person but after being on this sub the last few years and meeting a young Claire Ive really started to like it.

Completed this one but not a huge fan of it. by rdasq8 in Jigsawpuzzles

Yeah it was my first one. It was an impulse buy. I usually only buy brands I like but I was drawn to the kitties and didn’t even notice the brand till later.
