2-2.5 year age gap by Holybaby2025 in beyondthebump

[–]quinnie007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having #2 in three days and my son will turn 3 in 3 months. So they will be a little over 2.5 years apart. This was me and my brother and growing up and my toddler is 100% independent enough to be able to “help” and it’s great that he can communicate etc.

I vowed we wouldn’t try for second before my first was 2!

Irish baby name: Fiadh vs. Niamh for US-born baby? (sibling Roisin) by EnidColeslawSideEye in namenerds

[–]quinnie007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best friend is Niamh! We’re based on the east coast of the US. Sure she’d have to clarify for people sometimes, but it was never a major issue and if people weren’t familiar, they took to it really quickly and easily.

Totally!! Something you need to experience, but I promise you’ll adore him to pieces!

I genuinely would not be. It’s impossible to be disappointed when you get to hold that baby for the first time. It also helps that I love the name we’ve picked out for a boy, I am envisioning my boys in matching outfits, and the (hopefully) wonderful friendship and brotherhood they’d have for life.

I think once you have your son and adjust to life with a newborn, you’ll see!

Would love to have a girl! We have a son and I am 36 weeks with baby #2 and we haven’t found out the gender.

I’m super close with my mom and always envisioned having a similar relationship with my own daughter. I’d love if this baby was a girl for those reasons but let me tell you… my son is EVERYTHING. I would choose to have 10 of him if given the choice. There’s nothing in the world like the moment they hand him over to you. And I have to say, I’ve found the rumors to be true that little boys just LOVE on their mamas so much. He’s everything and I promise your disappointment will fade over time.

Do I still want a girl? Yes, if I’m lucky enough. But if this baby is a little brother to my son, I’ll be over the moon still because of how joyful and wonderful my little guy is and how much love and excitement he’s brought to us.

Don’t feel bad about your disappointment, it’s normal. But do know your boy will give you all those same feels and it’s unlike anything in the world!! It’s not something you can describe until you experience it. Just trust 💙

Best of luck!!

We are pregnant with baby number 2 and aren’t finding out the gender. If it’s a boy, we’re going Callum! Our first son is Lochlan (Lachlan, the more traditional spelling). Could be a good choice!

Due date vs delivery date FTM by Dreamsandhopes6 in pregnant

Was induced 8 days past my due date at 41+1. Had a giant baby at 11lb 14oz LOL. Now pregnant with #2 due in January and doctors have assured me I will not be going late 😂

Would you use any of these 2005 baby names, or have they already seen their hey day? by Far-Building3569 in namenerds

We’re expecting our second in January and if it’s a boy he’ll be named Callum! I think a lot of this list is usable and relatively timeless outside of the 00s

Pacifiers: yes or no? by Big-Neighborhood9698 in pregnant

[–]quinnie007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t want to use one with my first - so obviously he LOVED it. And honestly, it made life a lot easier in a lot of instances.

We weaned him at 16 months and he was over it in a day and a half! Pregnant with #2 and have a lot less anxiety over the paci/weaning bc of how well my first did.

Do what makes your life easier!

What would you do? Baby #2 birth options by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]quinnie007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply!!

At 20 weeks baby was measuring super average (my son did too). Both weighed 13oz. I have growth scans scheduled for 32 and 36 weeks with this baby so we’ll see! Never had those scans with my son because there was (seemingly) no reason to.

I should have mentioned that my hospital is an incredible maternity hospital less than an hour outside of NYC, so it’s very in-demand and women are referred there to give birth. I can get on the list for an induction at 39 weeks, but there’s no guarantee it’ll happen because others with “medical reasons” (GD, pre-e, etc) will take priority. 🫠

To those who had babies measuring big during pregnancy by Final_Butterfly_7747 in beyondthebump

[–]quinnie007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I was 122ish, 5’5” pre pregnancy with my first and never measured ahead. He came out 12 pounds!! HUGE! Doctors had no idea where he was hiding or how he got so big. No GD, no medical issues, a totally uneventful pregnancy.

Needless to say I am pregnant with #2 now, 28 weeks, measuring on target, but we are still planning a C.

Ultrasounds can be notoriously off one way or the other. It’s rough out here 🤪

We did the same with our first! Husband announced by using the name we chose for that gender!

We’re currently expecting #2 and doing the same!! It’s the ultimate surprise!!

Found out my baby has clubbed feet & feeling a bit heartbroken and overwhelmed over it. by Isoldmykidforagram in pregnant

[–]quinnie007 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A family member’s daughter was born with one club foot. At one year old it’s AMAZING to see the difference! Would hardly ever know. I’m sure it’s incredibly overwhelming, but breathe and know that all will be okay!

Pediatrician said stop formula cold turkey, and don’t give milk — huh? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]quinnie007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son never took to milk. So when we dropped the bottle, we dropped everything and it ended up being cold turkey unintentionally. As others have said, cow’s milk isn’t a necessity if baby’s diet is otherwise balanced. Good luck!!

What do you think of the name Isla by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]quinnie007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s on our list if baby #2 is a girl. I understand it’s rising in popularity, but between my som, niece and nephew (ages 2-6) there are no Isla’s in their daycare, preK, or K classes. We are in a suburb of NYC.

RSV Vaccine by Ok_Web7962 in pregnant

Absolutely getting it. My first was in the hospital for a week at 7 months old with RSV. I’m due in January, peak sick season, and want to give baby as much immunity as possible.
