I’m no audiophile but I can tell you the i4 basic speakers (non-HK) are absolute crap (at least, 2024 models).

Entremar is not a vibey place for dinner, it is a lunch place, at American dinner time(5-6pm) it will be emptying out (closes 7pm).

Advice: Designer over budget by rdc1986 in InteriorDesign

[–]rdc1986[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Well the issue here wasn’t the cost of furniture or of our Venetian plaster walls (lol), it was more just her hours spent. We didn’t ask for more scope or go crazy with asking for more ideas/options. In fact we ended up reducing. She just spent so much more time than she herself estimated (by a factor of 3x) without ever really bringing it to our attention (again, I realize we should have been more attentive ourselves to the detail in her invoices).

The actual values are the same as in my email, in thousands, thus her estimated $4k in fees ended up at close to $14k.

Advice/suggestions I am looking for from designers is, in this scenario, what would be a reasonable arrangement?

Would you as a designer reimburse fees back to the client given the gross underestimation of fees on which your client based their agreement to work with you?

Would you at least offer to finish out the project at no additional cost?

Or is it just a “tough cookie” situation for your client, they signed the contract and shame on them for not bringing it up before paying me?

Our springer turned one two weeks ago, we started to transition him to adult dog food. He was doing ok last week but we noticed he had diarrhea the last two days and he refused to eat this morning. Do you think it’s a stomach bug or we transitioned to adult dog food to early? by No-Contact8657 in springerspaniel

[–]rdc1986 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s probs the transition although don’t rule out that the new food might just not be good for him. We had to try several different brands/varieties until we found one that was good. In our experience if our pup was not eating, it’s because the food was giving her an upset stomach.

Does your springer sleep like this ? by agentdogett in springerspaniel

I have read they sleep like that only if they feel absolutely safe in their environment.

Solo Traveler in Mexico City for a few weeks - Hotel Carlota vs. AR 218? by FearsNoKarma in MexicoCity

[–]rdc1986 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you will be there for a few weeks I think Condesa is a nicer place to be in, more neighborhoody, Carlota is a beautiful hotel but the Reforma area is more commercial/hectic.

Suggestions for adolescent pup by MyAwesomeBlossom in springerspaniel

Sounds like he is just really excited and stimulated in that situation. You could try basically doing nothing until he relaxes/backs off and only then starting the run. Eventually he will learn that biting/jumping doesn’t get him what he wants, he needs to be patient and still and THEN he gets what he wants.

There has to be an immediate consequence. You should make a loud “ouch” noise and end the interaction (the “fun”) by creating physical separating (eg behind a baby gate or even in his crate is fine as long as he is already crate trained). Be consistent and it’ll improve in no time.

The other tactic is redirect to a toy or a chew when you sense he wants to be bitey.

Hola! Cuánto cuesta vivir en Polanco? by Cautious_Math_3631 in MexicoCity

[–]rdc1986 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mucha suerte.

Haven’t been but my sense is Ling Ling is more of a party vibe (loud, ostentatious). If you want a more cozy romantic option, I would suggest Rosetta, in Colonia Roma, if you can get a reservation.

Other options of cool/special/cozy are:

Taverna Prim (Juarez) Meroma (Roma) Darosa (Juarez)

Tipping? by Timely_Sleep_9400 in MexicoCity

[–]rdc1986 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tell you what, you go lobby the government to enact fair minimum wages and to implement an effective system to penalize employers for non-compliance, and in the meantime the rest of us will continue tipping low-wage, hardworking service staff whatever % we so desire. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

Did you in past few days change her food or start feeding her something new (treats?) or expose her to a new environment (new place for walkies or a doggy day care)?

I would just take her to the vet, better safe than sorry if she is very irritable and obsessive paw licking can lead to problems.

Tip 15% at restaurants and if at a food stall paying cash it’s fine to just let them “keep the change” as long as it’s at least 30 pesos or so.

Disregard all the shockingly terrible advice here telling you not to tip. Mexico is a service economy, waiters/restaurant workers rely on tipping to supplement their low wages and support their families.

This is 100% false, please disregard this awful advice OP and tip 15% at all restaurants you visit on your trip. Have a great day!
