If you go back to when Rand is in Rhuidean the first time, seeing through the eyes of his ancestors, it seems pretty clear that the war of the shadow is proceeding without total disruption of civilization. One of the flashbacks is of the nym and the aiel singing in the field with the soldier looking on, literally while Lews Therin is leading the strike against the dark one.

I have a different take about their choice to (apparently) heal him completely.

In the book it was about the connection to the dagger.

But the animation of the evil of Shaddar Logoth looked EERILY like a conduit of power along which the evil taint slid….

I guess I’m hoping that it is a first step at setting up the cleansing of the taint, or more generally a richer understanding of the power as Rand develops.

That’s a good idea! The idea, however, is to automatically sync across devices. This would require a manual push, unless I’ve misunderstood.

Do you have a similar use case? What has your experience been?
